Need help. Pop from rear end and wouldn't move
Alright, so I'm driving a 92 v6 4x4 truck, i drive to work and at the end of the day, pulling out onto the road i hear a pop and the truck stops moving. I thought it popped out of 1st, so i jam it out and back into 1st real fast to avoid getting t-boned. Nothing. I pushed the truck back into the parking lot and peek under it. The driveshaft is spinning, I'm assuming either the pinion gear sheared off, or an axle broke (open diff?) I limped it home front wheel drive. If anyone has had this happen, share please! I plan on fixing it this weekend, but my time is very short, if i can pull an axle and pop a new one in that's the best- case. There was zero grinding, or any new noise on the way home. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
edit: the pop wasn't very loud, i really thought it just popped out of 1st.

You running stock size tires? Put a blower onto that V6 engine? Any guesses what might have induced this failure? I don't believe it's common on a stock truck.
