Need help electric fan not working.
Here's the deal, the passenger side windo stopped working so I brought it to a glass shop they jumped the electric motor using some battery or charger to see if it worked and it did. When the guy did that I saw sparks and the motor went up, since it was stuck in the down position. They narrowed the problem down to being a faulty master control switch on the drivers side. Anyways so I take the truck home and I have the a/c on and notice the temp going up higher than it usually gets. I notice I don't hear the fan kicking on. Could these schmucks have fried the fan motor? My friend installed it for me and I'm not good with wiring, I didn't notice any inline fuses that may have blown and the fuse block under the hood is fine. Where else are there fuses in these 4runners? Mine's an 88 V6. By the way it's a flexalite electric fan.

With the flex-a-lite fans their normally is a fuse that comes with the wiring. If you are lucky you can just replace the fuse and call it good.
If it continues to not come on try adjusting the built in thermostat on the side of the fan when it's at normal operating condition.
If this still doesn't fix the issue then get a new control unit from flex-a-lite.
They normally run about 20 bucks or so.
If that is teh case look on their website, order it from there, and also check out the wiring for the specific one that you have.
If you need a new control unit you can switch the wires around in the fan so it turns on whenever you plug it in. If you do this WATCH OUT FOR THE FAN!
I have had to do this a few times and it's pretty easy when you have the wiring diagram from flex-a-lite
