Single Flowmaster
First you have to consider whether you are still stock motor or not, mileage, and other goodies, add-ons.
I just installed a 190hp, 210 torque 3VZE motor. I added Thorley chrome header kit and run it all through "1" old used 40 series Flowmaster. Running in first gear I have been asked if I had a V-8 on numerous occasions.
But when going in the other gears it changes down to a Jap V-6 sound, but going down the road you can't really appreciate the sound anyhow.
Good Luck! (oh yeah, the rebuild after ALL parts & labor - roughly $6k) But hey at 280k miles I'm good to go another 300 plus!

If you haven't gone out and got a muffler yet i'll put in my 2 cents. I had a 94' toyota truck, sr5 with 3.0 v6 4x4 blah blah. I put the K&N filter charger on it, downey headers and then took it to a shop to get the high flow cat and 40 series flowmaster put on. The guy at the muffler shop chopped my stock muffler off and let me sit inside the truck while he held up different mufflers to my exhaust pipe so i could hear the difference. You should ask the same of the place you go to. Better yet, be the person sitting behind your truck and have someone sit inside your truck and rev it so you can hear it better. I was pleased with the 40 series but i had the other mods too. There was at high rpm's a bit of bee's in my exhaust but it was tolerable and wasn't there every time. It just depended on how i would excellerate. Like others say, it's a small motor, if you were talking about a 4.0L ford engine with a 40 series flowmaster then you'd get a stiffy on the spot when you heard it. good luck!

I agree. PLus the motor with the vortex sounded like a 22re...
I agree with the flowy. Ive never heard one sound like that before. I think I will get a flowmaster 40 series when my glasspack finally completly rusts out.
