I called mike at sunwest, requested some extra work, and we agreed on a price. My engine also has a broken rod and a hole in the block. We did $1800.00 or so with shipping, no core.I,ve got 22,000 of mostly use on the farm in 4wd.I bought a ballanced fly wheel and a Zoom matching clutch and pressure plate, and sent my injectors out for sonic cleaning. The truck pulls great, and had no issues.Broke it in with regular oil and swithched to mobil 1 and AMSOIL.

Oh and lc claims free shiping on the atk series engines so good luck in your search and build . wish i was closer im getting rid of my motor (22re) in a few weeks for a 4.3 swap

Mike terdreski is the owner,I called him, told him what I wanted and he built it.I had a couple of questions during install on saturday,he call me right back and I'm pleased as I can be.He sent a gasket kit, break in instructions etc.The 22 series is the main motors they build.

well right now am looking at three choice
#1 Oregon engines-long block shipped with no core is $1,640 with lifetime warranty only thing is there in Oregon so if i had to ship it back with a problem i could be out for a long time but they have a good name have yet to hear a bad thing
#2 Sunwest automotive engines- good price and you seem to be happy with them $1,800
#3 LC - price is high but have a really good rep $2,000 plus core fee
wish there was a good builder closer but want to make a decision tonight so any other ideas would be great but right now these are my options

those are the three I've seen discussed here - definitely the leaders in that dept. I think Oregon Engines is run by Ted at ENGNBLDR?
Seen some small negative feedback on the Oregon engines here, but very isolated incidents. All three seem to have a lot more positive feedback than negative.
Good luck!

Leave it on,Start with pulling the harness, radiator and water hoses.Unbolt the exhaust,Pull the starter, then unbolt the trans, dont forget to block up the trans or chain it up.Make sure who ever you buy the engine from is using the best parts.

quick question how do you guys pull engines out of your runners on 35s? i have a lift but dont think it will go up high enough to get the 22 out?
-deflate tires
-take off tires
-take off front clip
only things i can think of
