so i got the tank down today, the filler hoses were a whore lol should be just as fun puttin them back on but i got the pump off and the sock was black i started laughing, isnt it supposed to be whiteish? and yea i can see abunch of crap on the bottom of the tank. how do i clean the sock?

if you went to the trouble to drop the tank and could afford a few days of down time i'd hit the dealer for a new sock, just to be safe.

maby let the sock dry and try compressed air?? i'd be worried about damaging the filter and rendering it useless in the future.

okay but i just ned to hear from one person if this sock is fubar, am i correct? i was gonna ask if you can get the sock separate if i can im picking one up in 15 mins lol, do you think this could be the cuprate to my problem? also here is the 8L of gas and debris remaining in the tank i think its all out im just gonna wipe it all down to make sure

so i went and got the sock from toyota, and am just putting it all back together, here is what the sock looks like new compared to old lol, hopefully should be all back together tonight

Your sock being that dirty, I am sure that it was clogged even after cleaning it. I wouldnt be surprised that some trash made it past the old one so you might could have some problems later on but you may just luck out.

I have seen the long "J" line clogged. You probably have it back in now, but if you ever pull it again, check the pipes from the firewall to the tank as well. I check with the pump out and use an air hose to hear the bubbles.

That pump I listed from ebay is exactly the same if you need to replace it. Have fixed several trucks with those and never a problem. It is 5 dollars cheaper if you call them.

Fuel tank is all back together but it started raining as i was lifting it back in so im gonna try again today, i blew through the J line and it was clear but im hoping there is t something still in the lines lol im quite sure there isnt

Ok so i got it back together and took it for a 100km drive and it feels much better on the highway and im positive this was my main problem! Thanks for the help, now onto my epileptic vibration coming from the rear lol
