My cat converter got stolen today :/
I know theres a lot of threads like this and that this kind of theft isnt uncommon, but i figured id post it anyway. parked in this big shopping center parking lot pretty close to the store. i timed it and i was only in there for 11 minutes. punks must have watched me park, go in the store, then chopped it all off. battery operated sawzall. i wasnt really that mad about it, but these thieves make me sick. people are just unbelievable.
The remnants of my exhaust.

that blows man, what's a used cat go for these days anyway around $30?
I know that happens in California all the time but North Carolina? Do you have any enemies?

At any rate this is just an excuse to get a local shop to weld you up a new system
I'm really happy with this Dynomax Super Turbo muffler I had welded in a few months back:http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/17...oductId=744698
It has a nice deep sound when revved up but isn't overly loud or ricey.

Its VERY loud right now. and yeah, from what ive researched they can get the platinum inside melted down and whatnot. or they can get like 80-100 bucks for em. from what ive heard. they took it right underneath my nose, man. bums.
honestly im just really glad the didnt tear anything else up. if they were having a bad day or something they could have really done some damage and no one would notice. coulda chopped up my new soft top. glad thats still intact

The people who took it were obviously scumbags, all I was saying was that when I sold my last used cat after putting in a magnaflow I got $30 for it.

lol look around in the scrap yards.. any places worth wheeling in hendersonville the only thing around here is logging trails or where the power company clears off from the lines

Curious was yours the original cat? Thought I read somewhere that only factory ones have the high metal contents that the thieves are looking for.
When I bought my 4runner the previous owner had it sitting on the streets for a while and the factory cat was nabbed.
