My 92 4runner and summer fun ride!
Hey everyone,
I've had a couple of 4runners in about 5 years and cannot get over how awsome they are!
First one was a fully loaded 91 and have of the power options didn't work lol but, still loved the ride. A friend and I swapped it over to solid axles, but didn't finish the project in the end.
A couple of years ago I picked up a 92 4runner and this time... no options Piece of mind now. I have the rear end sag but today I ordered Skyjacker shocks, Skyjacker stabilizer and BJS. I already have a set of 80 series 7 wrap coils.
So the work has started to get the body into shape. I lucked out and found a set of Hillux Surf doors with no rust and 2 Hilux Surf tailgates. Ordered 2 new fenders and might be able to save the hood. The only thing that the body shop will have to do is repair the rockers and rear wheel well arches.
Here are some pictures of the begining of the rebuild:
Pictures of the tailgates. The blue one is a shell, no parts inside and it's for sale if anyone's interested!
Here are the 80 series coils. Does anyone know which one goes drivers and passengers side?????
Here are a couple of pictures of my 02 Subaru WRX. 222 awhp and 224 awtq on a Mustang Dyno. Next spring it should be at 280awhp 290 awtq.
Hope you guys/gals like the rides!
Cheers

************October 4th Saturday UPDATE***********
Sooo I decided to tackle the tailgate! Man oh man I love seeing rust go away lol. Everytime I used the rubber mallet I heard rust sprinkle from the underside of the tailgate and rockers!
Here are pics of the OLD tailgate opened up. The previous owner had it gutted and a piece of wood holding the back glass into place. So it hasn't been opened up for about hmmmm.. 4 years??
Here's the Hilux Surf tailgate installed and yes everything works! I had to rewire all the connections since the JDM dismantler love to use big ass side cutters.
Pretty cool decal on the glass too I danno if you can notice it.
And now all the rust that fell from the truck lol. Lots of time vacumming!
Ordered up the fenders yesterday and will be getting them in on Monday. My uncle will hopefully do the doors for me while I'm at work tomorrow.
Enjoy!

You might want to look at the 4Runner 1/4 panel metal panels from Corey. I just put a set on my 4Runner and the fit is perfect.

4runner is going to be dropped of at the shop to have the 4 Skyjacker shocks and single Skyjacker steering stabilizer. Along with the SDORI BJS's and 80 series coils! I think it's going to be a nice little lift Good enough for these Canadian winters!
Big ups to Corey at toyotafiberglass.com for the last set of OE rear 1/4 panel replacements! Last set in Canada from what I remember him saying? Or that he will not be reordering them since they're discontinued. Good communications and customer service.
Truck will head over to the body shop right after the mechanical for:
4-Hilux Surf door swap
1-Hilux Surf tailgate final adjustments ( really stiff joints on the brackets)
2-new fenders
1-new hood
2-rear 1/4 panel replacements
2-rocker panel replacements
and yes the roof is mint lol Since that's the only panel that isn't going to be touched. I'm happy that my truck will be all metal once it's all done.

Just dumped $10k into my motor for the Subaru... Wife doesn't want to see anymore projects happen lol. I understand what she means cuz when I start it doesn't end. A 9 second in the 1/4 mile Subaru is good enough for me
