My 1993 4runner 3vze A340H rebuild/mods show & Tell w/ LOTS OF PICS!

🔧🔩💪👐
What's up my fellow 4runner Fanatics?!?! I'm making this thread as a sort of "show N tell", to show everyone else the past 4 months of Mods and rebuilding work that I've put in on my 1993 4runner 4x4.
I began this lengthy project on 10/15/2015, and have finally finished all the custom and oem work today, 3/07/2016. The work has been tough, frustrating, and pricey; but it has been soooo worth it. I now have peace of mind while rolling on & off-road.
When I started, my 4runner ran perfectly fine, but had a few fixes and issues that needed to be taken care of, of which included; my alternator was going out, I needed new Water Pump, Thermostat, crankshaft/camshaft seals, valve cover gaskets, radiator, power steering pump seals, a few auto transmission problems, etc..etc.
I ordered most, if not all my replacement parts from www.rockauto.com, and about half the parts I got were aftermarket/high performance.
Anyways, I started off by replacing my Catalytic Converter, o2 sensor, Drained ATF FROM A/T & Transfer case, A/T shift control solenoids, ATF pan filter/gasket.

Then I Replaced/Rebuilt/Modified:---->
☆Custom rain shield for windshield wiper motor.
☆Rebuilt power steering pump with new seals & gaskets.
☆Replaced Water pump & Thermostat.
☆Replaced idler pulleys.
☆Replaced Timing belt & drive belts.
☆Custom Ported Hinged Doors for camshaft/timing cover.
☆Replaced hoses top 2 bottom.
☆Replaced radiator.
☆Custom install of Hayden ATF oil cooler:
☆Bypassed stock Radiator AT oil cooler (NO MORE STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE 4 ME! :] )
☆Custom Cold Air Intake Box including Intake Silencer Removal Mod and also i custom built mounts on box to keep the stock intake resonator.
☆Replaced Master Cylinder & Brake booster.
☆Custom AT Oil Temp Guage install just under left driver side of dash/cluster.
☆Rebuilt windshield cleaner motors & reservoir (front & rear)
☆Replaced sparkplugs.
☆Replaced Valve Cover Gaskets.
☆Replaced Rotors & brake pads.
☆Replaced/installed New HP Alternator.
☆Replaced Intake Plenum Gasket.
☆Replaced Battery terminal connectors
...
I think I've included everything, minus a few minor maintenance fixes and repairs here and there. But if I think of anything I left out, I'll be sure to include it.

I hope you all enjoy the pics of my 1993 4runner, and I'm always open to suggestions or opinions from fellow gear heads and off-road junkies. Feel free to follow me at ig@Houston_86 to see other pics and current mods and fixes in the future.
Shalom & peace ✌

I really what you did with the place. It looks almost as nice as mine did when I went overboard. That is till I went and got nasty having left the skid plate off by mistake. Now it looks like it did before all the work I did last summer.
Anyway, is that air filter mod & box CA legal by chance? If so, do you know what you paid and what the model is? I was thinking of doing the same after I do the auto to manual hub swap next weekend.

Thanks bro! Appreciate the input. Actually the Cold Air Intake Box, filter, resonator set up is 100% custom. I just took the same dimensions and material specs from KN&N airbox and built my own using the same polyethylene plastic of a mini trash bin, measured and cut to size. Then cut a piece of plexiglass to mount as lid. Then I mounted the stock resonator to the airbox using 90 deg steel brackets. So in short, I did the "Intake Silencer Removal Mod", With a CAI Box/Filter, and Kept the Resonator all at the same time, thus not having to sacrafice the horsepower loss, but still keeping it emissions legal. You can do the same. Get back to me and I'll shoot you some better pics and mod instructions so you can DIY and be lethal & legal all @ once. Over and out.

I would love to see those pics and get that info. Thank you for offering my good man.
I just remembered before that my mechanic said to make sure you have a CA certified card before installing anything or he can't pass it when smogged but also said that it is CA legal to do anything before the Mass Airflow Sensor.
I had planned on doing something like that with a box and all to make sure it only gets cold air but had to move on to do a head job on my car and then forgot about it.
I always laugh when I see somebody (like the little Civic lovers) install one like that but open and right in the middle, next to the engine, sucking up all hot air.
Thanks again and no rush. I wouldn't be able to get to it for at least a couple weeks anyway.

Intake writeup

Hey are you or can you do a "how to" write up on that intake? That looks great.
