Lower Intake Manifold Causing Low Idle??
Is there anything down by the lower part of the intake manifold that would cause a low idle? Because my truck ran fine, then we took off the intake manifold and now its got a lowww idle, around 250rpm. When the truck starts up it idles fine for like 2 sec, then drops. So my question is, is there anything I could have missed, or didnt connect correctly when putting it all back together that would cause a low idle??

Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with the vacuum hoses on top. Cause even when I change the hoses around nothing happens. Still the same thing. Now that I think about it the intake mani gasket ripped and I just tried to put a bucha sealer on it. Could that be the cause of the low idle? a break in the intake mani gasket?

yup that's it for sure... i put my truck on it lol... it probably didn't seat right or the excess sealer made it not sit flush. if everything else is on right and it's the only thing you did after it was running fine then that's your problem.

Damn it. haha I was in a hurry. Note to self. If you dont have enough time to finnish a project completly and do it the right way, dont do it at all.
So when I put on the new intake mani gasket i shouldnt use goop along with the gasket??

When I had mine apart I just used the paper gaskets. Some of the guys here smear a small film on it just to help out. Mine did fine without the film.

Ok ill just put the paper gasket on with no goop. Cause no goop means I can use it more then once if I have to take it off again haha.
But dang, taking off the intake mani on these trucks is litterally like taking apart half the engine...its alot ha

Ok got it all changed out and now it starts, runs for about 7 seconds then has the same issue again. Low Low Low idle

Now it seems to be throwing a code 12. which is "RPM NE signal to ECU-missing within 2 seconds after the engine is cranked"
Ive found that it has something to do with the dizzy, the coil, or the cap and rotor. But would it just go bad all of a sudden? or do i not have something hooked up?

dunno man i'm as lost as you... Sorry if it's now throwing code and your sure you hooked everything up right then i'm stumped. try changing the cap-rotor-maybe coil....

Ok if this is related to my low idle issue I seriously doubt. But I have 2 plugs that are over by the ecu that do not go to anywhere. The blue one has 3 pins in it and the yellowish one has 2.
Now see the green wire comming off of the yellow connector? Well I traced that all the way back and it goes to the ignitor. It was grounded out on this post like so..
Now my question is what for? What does that green wire do that It needs to be grounded at the coil? Especially if it doesnt even go into anything. Does anyone else have one of these on there rig? Where do these plugs by the ECU go even?

Ok so i found that the mystery green wire worked my aftermarket tach the PO put in.
Ok so I adjusted the Idle using the screw on the TB and it seemed to fix it. Turned the truck off. then started it again later for a test drive. Same issue. Low idle at like 150_100 rpm. Then when I pulled into my driveway it had a good idle at like 600 then down to 100ish. Im pretty sure this is a vacuum issue but I cant figure out what. All the lines have nothing to do with it cause I can have the truck running, take lines off, switch them, and nothing happens at all. No change in idle. So is the only other things that have vacuum are the brake booster, one line off the FPR, the valve thing under the intake mani towards the front, and the valve thing under the intake mani towards the back...
