Low Top Speed, After SAS.
I just finished my SAS. My top speed dropped from like 95 or 100, never pushed it farther to around 77. When my speedo says 70 (really going like 77) my truck won't go any faster, this is with the pedal to the metal.
Would the extra drag be enough to cause this? I beat the crap out of the fenders and on one side was a bunch of vaccum stuff, not sure what it is, that I beat under alot. It runs and idles like it did before but my top speed has dropped.
Would messing with my timing give me a little more power? This is a 3.0, help me out

correct me if i'm wrong, but the solid axle weighs A LOT more than the stock IFS. And yes it will cause more drag. Both factors combined probably will produce a reduction in speed. The real question is, why go so fast? Especailly in a vehicle that has had it's front suspension completely cut out and replaced? I would suggest that you be happy that you can't go 100 with a SAS.

I'm not trying to go 100, just an easy 70 would be fine. But at 75 floored I need it to go a little faster on the interstate.
It has more lift (prob around 6 inches) than before and 32 inch tires on 4.10s. I think I'm just going to tune the motor to eek out as much power as possible.

Does it have 32"s now, or before, or both?
I had 32"s pre-SAS, and now I'm running 36"s. I took it on it's first road trip this weekend and I prety much had it floored in 4th gear, so the weight and height of the tires definitely makes a huge impact on overall speed. I'm still running 4.10's, but not for too much longer.

I have the 32s on it now. They were on before the SAS too. The truck is fine in 4th but once I drop it in 5th it doesn't like to go much over 70.
