I was runnin straight pipe for a month or so and it sounds like a tractor and attacts the cops, don't have that much power with no back pressure. I just had a cat and cherry bomb muffler installed and it sounds alright but I have way more power. Now I can think again when im driving!

On my 22re I have 2.25 no cat to a cheapo ebay muffler and 2.25 out past the rear axle. Sounds good, more power, not too loud but you know when its running...

Well with my garbage ebay muffler, Advanced auto carries it also...just an off brand. The 22re with a cam and not cat sounds nice and throaty. I was really worried about a ricer sound and I don't have it. Can't stand those things!!!

A flowmaster 40 is probably as loud as you are going to get without going with a single chamber race muffler or open exhaust. If I were you I would just leave the 40 series on there. If you do any highway driving at all, louder is definitely not better.

i find that flowmasters give a more tin like sound. i tried a fake flowmaster 40 on the yota after the cat it gave a higher pitched sound than no muffler. on my ram it sounded sick when i started it up on cold mornings with that muffler and no cat
