Looking to delete the EGR out of my 87 single cab
Does anybody have any pics that show the process to delete the EGR system from the motor? I've searched the threads and have come up with nothing. Anything advice would be great.

Remove & plug the vacuum hose that goes to the EGR; that will disable it & it won't open again. You'll need to install a 10,000 ohm resistor to the wiring harness to prevent CEL.

I blocked my egr for 50 cents.... took 2 quarters, stck 1 btween the egr, and intake plenum with some rtv silicone to seal it, the other in the tube that comes from the exhaust manifold.... no issues in the 4 years its been like that :-)

Thanks Team420. While we are on the issue of deleting things I've heard different stories on deleting the VSV. What's y'alls opinions on that? I've heard you have to blip the throttle while turning but that's the only thing I've heard about it. Mine has a broke off nipple so if I don't got to replace it I'd rather not fork out the money.

In my 88 build on the first post, I show how I block off my EGR and have not had any problems. I have heard of the resistor trick but have never tried it. I like my way though.

Well, mine is a 93, and has a gas temp sensor in the egr valve, if u block, or remove the egr, that sensor will not register the correct info to the ecu, which = cel, and rough idle/running, so u stick the 10k ohms resistor in the plug that would connect to the egr, to "trick" the ecu into thinking its at the correct temp.

I see. On my EGR I don't see any type of sensor so I think I'm safe to say I don't need one. Just trying to get rid of some of these vacuum lines and make it less of a mess up under the hood. Looks like a giant jigsaw puzzle under there right now. Lol

$14.95 for the egr block off and $14.95 for the air injection block off

Oh and don't forget to get a couple of boxes of vacuum plugs...

Great pics by the way. I must have overlooked those whenever I was buyin all my stuff from them. I had already spent a small fortune so I think the last thing on my mind was buying anything else. Think I may just order those from them instead of makin them.
