good to hear thanks man. I no i want to lock the rear probably just for the added traction in snow and mud, sounds like the right thing to do. Are the Aussies real expensive, or should i be asking are they worth what they cost??

Aussies are actually very reasonable as far as cost is concerned. However if your only planning on running mud and snow you might look into a true trac or a 1986.5-1992 MKIII Supra rear lsd. Its actually a pretty sweet deal. I am think of doing it my self and running a celica supra 7.5 inch lsd up front.

I wheeled my rig for a while with an open rear and got stopped on several mild hills when I picked a tire off the ground. With the Aussie I've been trying (and doing) things that I thought I couldn't do. The Aussie is well worth the money and has made me very confident in my rig and where I can go, or more to the point it's let me realize what I can get back out of. The Aussie cost me about 250$ shipped and I installed it in my rear third in about an hour, 2 hours later I had both the front and rear thirds installed and was out in the mountains testing the locker.

So far I have about 8000 miles on the locker and the new tires that I bought around the same time. I have ZERO tire wear due to the locker and really like the on road manners. I think it's the best mod I've done, well maybe in the top 2 along with the AFM. As far as "getting you there and getting you home" I'd have to say the Aussie is the best way to go on a budget.

ok. but if you are to lock the rear is using an aouto locker a lot better then a spool or just a lil. I guess what im trying to say is will the aussie locker be better then spooling it. Also, i don't want to regear or get a diffferent 3rd member set up cause i got two now that i think im gettin with 4.56's so ya. I figured i would just throw a locker in the rear one.

i looked for the aussie locker on there page but didn't see it for a 93 v6 4runner rear end. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Stick with all terrains on ice and you'll be fine. Lockers likely get their bad name from people who try to drive like maniacs on ice with lockers and mud tires then spin out. These same people would probably injure themselves with a pillow if given the chance.

yeah my dad didnt have any trouble driving his yota on ice with those a/t tires from can tire which look like cooper discover s/t but he drives pretty slow lol. yeah my tires are horrible on ice. im glad my tires have some little siping.

How much tread do you have on the Traxus MTs? They're supposed to be alright on snow/ice.

about 9/32 on the middle and like 13/32 on the corners. there is like tiny bit of siping pretty shallow. but im not used to mud terrains. i always ran a/t in the winter before. but its a bit fun fishtailing in the snow. the other day pretty icy morning(this is my fault not the tires) i accelerated to pass a car so i can merge into the left lane. when i was passing i slid at a pretty good angle lol. i probably would had slipped less with all terrains.
