I like the project, the truck seems to be in great shape.
I have done the head gasket job once on my '94 SR5. I will only do it once. If the head gasket ever goes out, I will do the engine swap to the 3.4.
I decided to put a bunch of money into my truck rather than replace it. I figure I will have around $2500 in it after doing the paint/body work, replacing both front cv axles, new tires, new brakes and a front pinion seal. I may have to do a valve cover gasket/cam shaft seal job due to an oil leak that is about 1 qt per 3000 miles.

Yeah I think I will just fix the head gasket and when something else happens I'll go 3.4
1 qt per 3000mi? pffft. Thats nothin. My Camry needs a quart every gas tank. (But thats burning not leaking)

I put some sea foam into the crank case and slowed the leak down quite a bit. In the first 1500 miles of this oil change, I leaked about a quart. After that, I added the recomended amount of sea foam and topped her off with oil. I have driven another 15oo miles with only leaking about 1/4 qt. I check the oil every gas tank, hopefully the leak stays slow for a while!

Got some new pictures cuz I know you guys like pictures. Still havent started on the head gasket yet, but I also still don't have a job so I've been messin around with it while not spending any money.
Took the seat covers off and vacuumed, looks way better...
The bumper had been streched down so I tried to jack it back up to normal. It worked ok but would still need to go up some more to be back to normal...
My helper...
I put some H4 headlights in it a while back but I just thought these pictures looked cool...

Thanks! I guess it's pretty good but let me list everything that bugs me lol...
1. Dash has a long crack right above the speedometer.
2. Steering wheel is starting to ware away.
3. Shifter boot is worn and has like 3 holes.
4. Drivers seat is worn on the side and the bottom. (looks kinda like someone farted a hole into it lol)
5. The AC/heater fan blower speed selector thing is pushed back into the dash so you cant change it.
6. The cargo area has lots of stains.
7. The right side cargo area trim thing has a big crack (almost hole) in it.
8. The cargo area rear trim on the floor that goes in front of the tailgate is missing.
9. The gas door popper is just hanging there.
And I fixed the I-pod connector that is sticking up in the center console. It is now in the glovebox. It's not bad considering interiors I've seen on here lol but the little things bug the crap out of me.

1. Get a dashmat
2. Get a steering wheel cover
3. Get a replacement from DC or go to summit racing and get one for cheap
4. So is mine... just live with it for now, or get seat covers
5. Lets fix it!!!
6. Whos doesnt?
7. Duct tape on the inside of it will hold it together
8. Again, get a hold of DC
9. We'll fix it when we fix the HVAC Controls...

That darn clean. Mine was a rust bucket to the max...
by the way, I think I have all the trim pieces you were talking about, if you are interested, I could look and see.

Wow that sucks. One of the FEW reasons I'm thankful I live in Cali.
I'm broke now but I may contact you when I am in the market for them. I'll probly swing by the pick-n-pull first just cuz its really close.

About the battery, there is a plastic spacer that looks like it came with the battery, fits on the top perfectly. Here are some pics they are pretty self explanatory...

The one on my 82 has no battery hold down. No bungee cord, no nothin. The only thing that holds it in is the edge of the plastic factory tray. I drive like a maniac and I'm absolutely amazed that my battery hasnt hit my ac compressor ever.
