I figured $35 to never worry about it again... not toooo bad. And I don't mind rewarding all the work the guy went in to getting them made. I love it when someone puts in the work to solve a problem we all have.
Thanks!
Next on the list is bumpers/sliders, I think.

Just letting you know... ESPECIALLY around Christmas... LOTS OF THAT CRAP is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY back on 'back-order'... I'll not likely get my Sliders from 4xinnovations til around 2 more weeks, at least. Adam sent me an email, after only asking "Hey, sup Adam? Just curious when they'll ship(guestimate)... as I'm having someone help me weld em on.. so Just trying to coordinate... Thanks".... He responded, "As it clearly says on the site, 'sliders on back order 3 weeks' "......... Started to think, "Wait, WTH kinda smart arse crap is that? " ..."As it clearly says on the site"???? 'OH HELLLLLLLLLLZ no!' .............And then I figured... he's probably REALLY slammed with orders....People getting all 'HURRY UP' on him, etc... (not that it's really my problem that he's got more business than he can handle in a terrible economy, ... Yeah, besides the point... It can be STRESSFUL, I get that)..... And, well, BUSY order wise because; People tend to 'treat themselves' around this time of year... Especially on 'DUDE' projects, lol... Still... I just dropped 230$... not sure that's how I PERSONALLY would respond... But meh, if I can't take a lil condescending sarcasm.... well then what kinda man am I, right? ....
Honestly? I JUST WANT EM! lol... Not "NEEDING" them desperately or anything right now..... Just that it's a great deal there, etc. BTW, I think they're rear bumper is the route I'm choosing.... It's that "DUAL TUBE" look(not smittybuilt...lol)... on the rear... Rather than the one crossing the bottom......
Anywhooooooooooo, ..... just sharing that you'd MAYBE better get those orders in if you want them by ..... SOMETIME THIS WINTER! lol. Of course, I'm SURE TG and some others have the TG bumpers ready to go, etc. ... But you said Sliders.. so just making sure for ya, ya know?

Not to be smart either but when an order is placed on our website, it usually takes 3-4 weeks for it to get done. Around Christmas time, well....a lot longer. We had to bring in another member to help us out for the items we guaranteed by Christmas. Thankfully, we've done well and were able to get em all done. Typically, 3 weeks is about right on. Some can be quicker if we have the steel already cut, bent and notched...so time frames can be as quick as one day if the customer requests it by phone...but that rarely happens.

I was just saying.... If I responded to people like that when they were simply asking for a date/not rushing me... it'd effect my business badly. I don't take it personally... Don't even know the dude.... I've heard nothing but good things from people who've dealt with Adam. Was just sayin, ... ya know? And now? I really don't care, within reason, if they come in early January some time.... Like I said, I'm a lil excited is all, haha.

Hey Mark, I know how you feel. I just figure, we're dealing with cottage industry here. It's a few guys putting stuff together in a shop, so turn around is going to be pretty elastic. These guys (small scale fab/suppliers in general, not calling out anyone specific) are loaded up and I'm grateful that they're still building parts for our toys to begin with.
All that said... it looks like I'll be getting a front bumper a little sooner than planned. I took a trip to a creek bed this weekend and had a little more fun than my stock bumper could handle. This happened while backing off of a rock ledge.

Here are some photos from the trip. Thanks to my buddy Jason for snapping the pics. I did some editing work on them.

OOOPS indeed! lol... Dangit! BUT, ... then again, it expedites your 'Christmas Gift to Yourself!' list! hahaha.
Yeah, ... like I said, ... TOTALLY get it on the wait. And, also like I'd said.. 'I am NEVER really abrasive', ya know? lol... Not really pushy, either. So wasn't sure, ... maybe I just was the 5th person to ask that within the week? haha... THAT I TOTALLY understand the frustration of. Anyway.. don't even wanna bother Adam with it... Like I said #4, hahaha... >>> "NOTHING personal.. can't be, he doesn't know me, nor I him... I just want his stuff like when I was 8 and wanted my Darth Vader Outfit!" hahaha.
Rig's looking great... Even with the War Wound!

I flexed it out on that rock, and the rear was about 1/4" from hitting the bump stops, but the front was on them hard. I'm thinking of grabbing some low profile bump stops for the front to see if I can get a little more out of what I've got.

After much deliberation and searching, I've ordered an Addicted Offroad front bumper. I'm pretty pumped.
I'm still looking for the right rear bumper. I'd also like to find some sliders that wrap up infront of the rear wheels. I've seen them before, but I can't find them again.
Thanks to ChefYota4x4 I've got a SR5 cluster, rollbar pad, and climate control panel showing up in a few days.

Hey just read this whole thread. Nice job so far. I saw you decided on an addicted offroad front bumper. Not sure if they are all tube style or not, and if the one you ordered is if matching styles front and back is an issue for you. I thought I'd throw this pic at you I saved a while back as a possible solution for your rear bumper/spare tire. Just a thought. Nice thread thanks.

Hey Ocell, .... hope you had a very nice Christmas..... Also hope you have a great New Year, as well, sir!
I like Scotty's stuff. I too am curious as to why Addicted in particular. Not saying it's a bad choice.... It's just that, well, you said, "After MUCH deliberation", etc., etc., lol... Curious what YOU found in your research that pushed you in that direction, that's all.
Also, I LOVE that Bumper, PITY! DAYUMMMMMMMM! One of those and an ARB up front? TEMPTING! lol. I'm so torn as to ARB style(CBI) or TG/Addicted/4Xi ..........
I do like what looks like a 'DUAL LAYER' of tube across the back on the 4Xi made tube style rear..... I think just cuz it looks a lil different. SO MANY of the TG style out there, anyway, ...so having an extra tube on it makes it POP I guess? hahaha....
Meh, ...they're all nice, ALL OF THEM... so I DO NOT envy your decision....
PS> THANKS TO YOU, Ocell, as well .... thanks to you! If you have any issues, just lemme know, right off. One day, I'll find another Roll pad and I'll make SIDE pads for the rest of the roll bar, lol...... Been wanting to do that for a while for when I take my buddies dog with me in the back. Heard a 'PINGGGGGGG' a couple times, hahaha..... And actually, it's not funny, it was upsetting..... I guess I just laugh now in retrospect because he's just fine, lol.

I went with the Addicted bumper because:
- Price is real competitive. I don't want to drop the cash for ARB right now... I'd rather put that money in to other parts.
- It has two recovery points, not just a 2" receiver in them middle. I haven't done any real recovery work yet, but it seems to me like more options are better.
- Looks... I like the square stinger and bottom perfed skid plate.
- I read that the bumper is kind of a combo between box and tube construction. Seems like a nice compromise to me... you get the strength of box with the weight reduction and low profile of tube.
I like that 4XI rear bumper too, especially that it's rated class 2 for towing. But, I worry that the second tube on the bottom will reduce departure angle. Back to my reasoning behind the front bumper, though, it has two built-in recovery points in addition to the receiver... and the price seems competitive.

Yeah, that bumper looks like a perfect match for an ARB in the front. Not the direction I'm going now, but that is one of the most 'modern' looking rear bumpers I've seen for a 1st gen.

Just to be clear, that photo is one I stumbled across on google. It does not belong to me.
I did however find one you might like.

I just went ahead and ordered some Energy Suspension low profile bump stops, enough to do upper and lower (6 total). I also ordered an oil pressure sender built for a gauge so I can get the SR5 cluster up and running when it comes in.
Looks like I'll have plenty of parts to install at the start of 2013.

HOLY CRAPULA, Ocell... I TOTALLY forgot to mention that I HAVE an OEM Oil Pressure Sending Unit as well. .... If that is something you'd like to return and spend less(the one you went and grabbed).... lemme know, k? If not, s'all good, I'll post it up on the ad.
AGAIN, I'M SORRY, man! Lemme know when the stuff gets there... and that it's made the trip without damage
