Installed my new tube doors

I intalled my new tube doors from 4X Innovations. I'm very happy with the purchase. Everything bolted on just like it was supposed to. I ordered the quick release hinges for both the tube doors and the stock doors. The tube doors go on and off very easily...the stock doors are a bit tricky as there is very little room to get the pins in. Anyhow, my daughter and I love driving around town in the open air. Can't wait to get it off-road!!

Here are some pics:

I have those same doors and I love them!!!

I haven't had the regular doors on for quite a while, almost a year. I painted mine with Duplicolor spray on bedliner. I also made some brackets to put on mirrors. I don't know about Ca, but in Az ya need to have at least a mirror on the drivers side.

I think they make a big differenece off road. I can see EVERYTHING. Makes spotting a whole lot eaiser.

I hope you enjoy the doors as much as I do mine!!!

I need to put mirrors on as well. How did you make your brackets?

I took some left over steel stock that was about 1/8" thick and about 1" wide and drilled a hole in one end and it went between the tube door and the hinge. Then I made a channel down the rest of it so I could adjust the postion of the mirror until I got it right. I got some mirrors at Pep Boys:

If ya need/want some other pics, let me know!

We sell 4xInnovations tube doors (and their other products) and run their sliders and tube doors on our 85...and we are currently doing a review of their quick door hinges for Pirate4x4 for some "pimping".

The hinges bolted on very easily. The bolt patterns were exact for my 4Runner. As I said earlier, the tube doors went on perfectly, I could do it by myself in a matter of minutes. The stock doors were harder. The way they (the doors) are made there is very little room to get the pin in. Plus the doors are heavier so I had to have my husband help me. Working together, we got the doors on in about 10 minutes. I would definately reccommend the quick releases to anyone. It is so nice knowing I can slap on which ever doors I want in a moments notice with out having to use a wrench!

Feel free to copy/quote/steal this and post where you need to.

I drilled a hole at each end of where I wanted the channel then I used a cut off wheel to grind out the middle. Porbably not the best way to do it, but I got the results I wanted.

I had some serious trouble with my hinges too. Now that my 4Runner isn't my dd, I don't think I'll ever put the stock doors back on.

I think the shipping was reasonable. I'm in Phoenix and I think the shipping was around $20 for the doors.

And if you tell Adam you are a YT or TTORA member, he might give ya a discount. I think I paid $176 delivered. I had them sent to my office to save a bit on freight.

The shipping wasn't too bad. I went directly through 4X Innovations. They are based in Indiana (I think) and I am in CA.

I got a pair from Wabbit just waiting to get my truck back from mech (blown engine). Then I'm putting some mirrors I bought at a trk stop on. They mount inside door frame so they won't get broke off in tight places.

Good idea...we have a truck stop pretty close to our house. I hadn't thought of that before. We were thinking about going to a motorcycle shop to see if they had anything I could just bolt on.
