I had a new key made for my 88. The old key was worn, was a duplicate, and barely worked. Got the code off the passenger lock cylinder and took it to the dealer. Had a new key the next day. The key works all the locks including the ignition and rear window.

i forgot to post an update i went to the local junk yard and got a set of locks and key for $20 for ignition and 2 door locks. took it apart basically as described above other than i used an center punch and a small drill bit to take care of the pin.
