IFS front diff upgrade?

A 2jz-GTE puts out roughly 227hp/330ft-lb.
A 2jz-GE only puts out 220hp/220ft-lb.
A 2jz-FSE only puts out 217hp/216ft-lb.
A 5vz (which has been put in many IFS rigs) puts out 190hp/220ft-lb.
A 4.3l (which has been used as well) Chevy puts out 160-180hp/230-235ft-lb
A 1uz (how many on here have put these in IFS trucks?) puts out 256-261hp/260ft-lb or 290-300hp/300-310ft-lb depending on which flavors you end up using.
My question to the O.P. is which 2jz we talking about here? As it seems EVERYONE has assumed a 2jz-gte and not a 2jz-ge or a 2jz-fse. But even then, I counter with the 1uz and/or 5vz.
And I will also add this:
There's an IFS v8 mud truck that runs some of the bogs out here without any problems. I'd be more worried about the CV's handling the power then the diff itself.

One day I would like a v8 in my t100 Anyone know what the front differential is? Or how to tell by looking?

I have done a chevy swap into my supra with a 5speed camaro transmission... I have looked long and hard at why I did this compared to running the 4.0 L v8 1uz motor from a ls400 or sc400 lexus.... it is just about a direct bolt up. it uses a 340 series auto or 150 manual.... they offer twin turbo setups and superchargers... I have a 7mgte supra right now and I have thought many times about swapping that motor into my runner but the 6 is just too much work. the v8 is definitely the way to go for that swap... just make sure its the rear sump...
then after the motor swap be ready to do the front diff swap with the 8 inch center mounted diff.... much better for high torque setups. I am just wondering now how much power the rear end out of the truck will handle.... maybe switch the rear out for a 2000 tacoma rear axle with electronic locker (stock setup) that should be able to handle the 4.0
I cant wait to see what people post after this comment....
btw.... TOYOTA's ARE THE BEST 4x4 dollar for dollar.... nothing else compares

A lot. And the 8" V6/turbo diff is nearly identical to the 8" e-locker diff with the exception of the locking mechanism and adjacent bearing, so you're not gaining any strength.

I had an 86 that I put a 283 v8 in and it had a downy limited slip I never had any problems but when I took it out and gave it to a buddy that put it back into his truck with the 22re he blew it apart and a few other different after so basically it breaks down to how hard are you gonna push it. I like slow and steady you break less that(in theory atleast)

well I figure the lexus motor should go good in the truck if you wanna keep to gas...especially if all you have to do is some basic upgrades... I was thinking that the front end swap to lsd would also work on the back end minus the c.v upgrades .... any thoughts?

Back on topic...
I've only busted 3 sets of 7.5" ring and pinions so far in my 88 IFS front axle with the 3VZ-E. So I wouldn't know what I'm talking about or nothin'...just runnin' my mouth for no good reason at all...as usual.
Side note: Now that I think about it, the front ring and pinion was THE VERY FIRST thing that did break on my truck from wheeling it hard. So, since then, I've expected it to happen every know and then when I wheel it hard. AND IT CONTINUES TO.

Tundra's don't use the standard 8" diffs. They use an upgrade version of the 8" aka 8.4" or 8.25". http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/#rear

I used to have a built up is300 (475 rwhp) and it had the 8in IRS, the rear the third member is almost identical to what we have in our truck. With 300+ 1/4 mile passes i never had any problems with anything. But we have to major problems heavy/large wheels and tires the front diff being reverse mounted. I'm no expert but from what i've heard when you reverse mount a third member your are using the week side of the teeth on the ring and pinion. A stock 2wd truck with a 7.5 rear could probably hold up fairly well in 300hp application. but being reverse mounted like it is on are factory IRS it a week link even with the stock the 80-90rwhp.
So i wonder how much can the 8in handle in front of our trucks? I know theirs a pic of that guy is AUS doing a awd burnout in a 4runner with a 8in ifs and a 1uz. But my old 98 camaro with the POS 10 bolt could light the tires up too, but first time at the drag strip it snapped like a twig. I really want to swap in a 5.3 or 6.0 lsx based motor in my truck but really don't want a SAS.

Well with my 190 hp in the t100 I broke the output shaft on the passenger side in the sand. I have a front locker. In my opinion the 27 spline shaft will fail before the diff In a lot of situations.
