I will get some more pics this week.
She really is cherry and it definately is a "throwback" driving it.

I love the gas mileage too.

Oh Matt is getting dirty tomorrow, that's for sure

I am going to order new OEM shocks and hardware, doing the rer diff breather mod, possible new side mirrors and fixing the rear windshield wiper.

I have painted the frame flat black, rear axle and all of the fenderwells

I still need to recover the front seats, but don't feel like spending the money...

I do want to apply bedliner to the floor boards. Mine are in great shape, so I might just do it myself.

Man, this is what I miss about having a vehicle that's paid for. With my Taco, I'm still a little leery of doing anything major to it, at least for a few more years... I remember my 86 hilux, man, I had so much fun tweaking with that thing and painting, and cutting and wheeling and breaking and fixing and wheeling and breaking and rebuilding and..... ah, the memories. *sniff, sniff*

By the way, great looking runner, E-rock! I'm sure you and Matt are gonna have LOTS of fun with it....

I am considering doing the bedliner sooner than later. It will match my soon to have marine-grade vinyl seats.

Now if I can just get ahold of an 85 front axle.....

That is a nice rig. I am jealous because you have both mudflaps.

What an absolute JOY to work on a 1st gen compared to the 3rd
New shocks, fresh oil and filter, new air filter, washed inside and out and removed the one lone front mudflap.

I had to cut the front shocks off, but other than that EVERYTHING went without a problem. I actaully like the early IFS better than the 3rd gens, but still don't want to spend any money on it.

Waiting to get an 85 axle to start cleaning....However some BJ spacers, OME and new leaf packs with 33x10.50s would look really good.

Thanks to Localmotion (as always) for lending a hand.
As soon as the sun pops up I will get some more pics...

seriously...the 1st gen was 10000000x better to work on then the 3rds!

usually, something goes wrong, broken bolts, something broken, something not working right...but not this time. The hardest thing was taking the tire off

like an idiot I completely forgot to put loctite on the bolts :pat:
I have to torque the bolts down anyways, so I am headed out to the garage to do what I forgot.

As soon as Matt left last night, I realized my mistake and felt like such a newb....

Pics shortly. Not there is much to really see, but they will be my pics and not the ones from the seller. Plus, i cleaned it up.....ummmm flat black frame

I hope you mean "blue" and not "red". You just think they were TOUGH to get off the first time if you used "red".
