don't know, can't really say imo, without having been there.
Thats why i wanted to know if it died himself or if he shut it off and it wouldn't start later.

I gaurantee you he wasn't driving through there slowly. I'm sure the water was over his hood when he was going. Besides who knows what kind of hole he drove through. Those things suck air right behind that headlight.

Just because the truck went for a swim, that doesn't mean it is dead. You have been given some good advice, to repeat, drain the fluids, pull the plugs, WD40 in the cylinders, crank it over.
My buddy sank his truck in the river one time and we got it running again. It wasn't quite the same but he still drove it for a long time afterwards. Good luck.

Unless you hydrolocked. Then I'm assuming you tried to start it and nothing happened. If that's the case ya you probably killed it.
Pull the plugs out and then crank it over. Make sure you have a buddy stare into one of the spark plug holes though to see if anything comes out. Change the oil and get any water out of the airbox and intake. Change the air filter.
Fire it up and start listening for it to knock. Start saving for a rebuild.
I can't say whether you are stupid or not because I haven't met you but I'm going to bet you're young. LOL!

I doubt it's dead, but you need to get back to it. Rigs sitting around out in the woods here get torched, unfortunately. Seen it a dozen or more times. And if you think that you Canadians are more decent than folks in the Southern US (known for their hospitality), then good luck to you. It's a crappy world, and people do crappy things to stuff that isn't theirs. Especially drunk idiots out in the woods.
Did you pull the air filter and see if it was wet? A soaked air filter will stop a truck from cranking in a heartbeat.
Was the distributor wet?
Did you blow any fuses?
Does it turn over at all?
