i think about getting a little beater car to replace the truck.. then i look at all the folks around here in their beater cars struggling to make it up hills or out of their driveways when it's snowing and i realize why i bought the damn thing in the first place.

If you wait, every so often a group of us from NY/NJ/PA/DE go on annual trips to paragon and rausch creek. Most of us have other priorities right now like school (college) and work but we usually go 2-3x a year.
If you wanna go local wheeling you can come visit me, there are trails 20 mins from my home. I dont wheel anymore with my truck since I paid dearly for a screwup-so I ride along.
Just cause you aint go time to wheel doesnt mean you should sell the truck.

its actually not that expensive to run a beater 2nd car. when i was shopping for a car a while back i remember there were a bunch of used corollas in good shape in the $3000 range around here with like 70k miles. If you look around there are plenty of beaters in the $1000 range that'd be fine for driving 90% of the time.
oh and insurance on a 2nd vehicle is actually pretty cheap. when i bought my yota i still had a 93 exploder, and insurance with both was only $300 more per year than just having the one car, and I was 18 at the time!
maintnance isnt really an issue on a beater, just look for jiffylube coupons in the newspaper lol

have you thought about parking the truck for a few months and driving a beater? I've thought about selling my truck lots of times because it's pretty much useless as a dd (although I drove it as one for years), It's small, gets poor milage (I run a service station and still won't drive it the 15 miles to work), can't carry any weight in the "bed", and wears out tires real fast, but it's a cheap toy if I don't drive it much. I broke the crank in '02? and finally put the motor back in last year. It still has only 22hours on it because my Subaru wagon does everything better as a dd, the only thing I do with it now is quick runs thru the woods and burnouts in the shop. It's a fun toy, hang on to it and drive something cheap.

Since no one is really telling you what you want to hear, I'd say sell the truck, and get a another Toy P/U or 4Runner. Keep it as DD as possible and put some 33x10.50's on it. That way, you're still driving something that is a decent DD and very off road capable. If 33's guzzle too much for you, do some 31's.

Either you sell it or not, seems to me like you want to.
In either case, its your fault you got all those points in the first place-which in NJ means your paying out the ass to drive your truck or a civic either way.
If it were me, I wouldnt sell it-work harder! I work sometimes 65 hours a week and bring home fat paychecks and I go commute college fulltime!
But its still your choice, something like your truck is not exactly off the shelf and would be hard to find again.. Even if you did sell it, what do you hope to get? 3k? unless its pristine or you find someone really interested not gonna happen.

I run my 3.0 on 35's and drive it to and from work everyday 80 miles round trip and ya I wanted it the way it is and ya I worked longer hours and even some all nighters to get the parts I wanted to get the thing the way I wanted it. But when gas went from $1.79 to $3.04 a gallon I didnt just throw it a way and give up I cut down on a few things like BEER DRINKING to save a few bucks here and there for gas and it does suck putting 20-25 bucks in gas a day but hey I knew it was gonna be that way when I started the build on my truck anyway.
So buck up and sell it or quit winning about it and stand up and cut back on stupid things you do that cost money and save it for gas money in the end if you keep the truck you will be happer anyway.
Think about all the sleepless nights you spent planning in your head how you wanted to build it so you would
1. Stand out in a crowd of simulier trucks and
2. How much better you could preform off road
AFTER ALL THAT'S WHAT A MAN WOULD DO.
Also you got the 10 point's on your licence yourself nobody did it for you so wheather you drive a car or motorcycle you are gonna pay out the a** for insurance anyway till you get the points taken off every 3 years.
JUST A THOUGHT NOT A SERMAN

If you sell it I'll be first in line to paint the big X on yer ars.
Seriously, though, there are options. And wheelin is not the only thing to do in the world.

This is exactly why my truck isn't tricked out yet, and probably never will be.
I will probably never go bigger than 31" tires
I will probably never do any sort of lift.
I will probably never regear.
I will never install lockers.
Although, when I do get to go out with my friends and go wheeling... It gets me through some pretty stupid stuff just fine.
Maybe sell yours and get a more basic yota?

Have you looked into joining a local wheeling club? That is what I did and I have met many more wheelers and they usually are people that if I just met on the street, would never have made the connection. Now I have many different groups that I can wheel with.
