How to remove and replace the Catalytic Converter on 1995 Toyota 4Runner?
I went to remove my Catalytic Converter and it looks like the two rear nuts and bolts are welded on. The two front bolts broke loose and are fine.
Is this possible and / or normal?
Could it be from rust and corrosion making it just appear welded?
I don’t want to cut it off & then get it welded back unless I have too.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unless there is a reason to suspect that something was done, before, then you are probably just dealing with severe corrosion.
You can try PB Blaster and such, but if the nuts and bolts are that far gone, I would just cut the bolt heads off, drive the remains out, and remove the cat. Just get new bolts all the way around for the new cat. You might also want to look into some kind of security for the new cat, since cat thefts are happening all over the country. Be sure to get you old cat recycled, since there is some coin to be regained by doing it.
