oh... and thanks for supplyin my truck with over half its body. it would be lookin pretty ugly without all that black sheet metal, probably be paintin next weekend or the one after. i might go to wildcat on next sunday with my buddy tyrel and his jeep. you and nicole should come. im bringin ash and my buddy id bringin his gf too.

 

haha put that crap on ZPs runner lol, not sure about wheelin next weekend though. my friend who had that red runner is getting a 87 xtended cab thats had a hack job sas done to it so were probably going to start redoing stuff on it sunday sence he works saterdays, we will see though thanks for the invite.

i used 4 or 5 cans of duplicolor truck bed coating, it turned out really good, i spent like 28 bucks on it

well, i finally got around to painting the truck this weekend. took me about 4 hours friday night, and about 3 hours saturday. i started off with 12 cans, and still have 4 1/2 left.

i used 320 grit sand paper, and 180 on the decalsm then went over it with 320. i taped off all the windows, taped off the headlights, and took out the tail lights. i used a piece of cardboard to block the over spray when going around the bumpers.

the hood and the roof were deffinatly the hardest, most pain in the ass spots. those stupid stick on decals wouldn't sand off, so i just smoothed them out best i could and painted over them, it looks like some paint will peel in that area if i take it to a car wash. oh well, i got a couple extra cans left over that'll take care of that

all in all it doesn't look too bad. next time i'm going to take my time sanding it, and put a little more effort into painting it. maybe even use a spray gun instead of cans.

i still need to paint the bumper valance, i'm gunna use glossy black to match the wheels, and i need to redo the wheels, i'll probly do that saturday at work if it gets slow enough for me to pull the truck in the shop.

i guess my advice is take your time, don't be lazy like me. preperation is key.

 

got around to valance today. looks 100% better

 

hey mattaway what kind of paint did you use for your valance? when i painted mine it didnt come close to being shiny

 

i used krylon glossy black. krylon makes the best spray paint!
