But look at it this way - at least they are being utterly realistic with their recommendations - as if they think you may actually use their product offroad - usually a company claims crap like their 1" lift will fit up to 35s! But they don't bother to tell you that the only time they won't rub is straight ahead on smooth ground....
I have a 4" (3" really) suspension lift and 3"body lift, 35x12.50s on 15x8.5s (with the most backspacing I can fit and not rub,) and with my front swaybar disconnected I can get the tires to rub on trails.

Even w/ the pics, I can see no way they fit w/o rubbing the fender seem/firewall or the battery tray...
But... if you're doing it successfully, then more power to you!!!
When you do the SAS, go 5.29's right away... skip the 4.88's.

I wheeled it all day today, I wasn't nice either. I only had minor rubbing on driverside firewall, yet passenger side clears better...go figure.

My truck has 4:6's stock. Plus your statement about what ratios for what tire size sure sounds like it came out of some cheezy off-road rag You won't find many 5:71's as the pinion is very weak, FYI.

I have a SSR 35x10.5 spare. Sucks up way higher. Sitting side by side with my Goodyear MT/R 35x12.5x15, the SSR 35x10.5x15 is the same height. All tires were new.
Never rolled on the SSR and probably never will. But it sure sucks up high.
On the 3rd Gen 4Runners it is the 12.5 part that is hard to deal with. Hence the shaved upper a-arms, etc.
As for this 3rd Gen pickup. The tires do work as he states, becuase the things have no articulaton what so ever. I know, I spend alot of time in one.
They bounce, not flex. Seriously, you have to "bounce" this truck through stuff.
AB, after bounceing. This was a really cheap fix. 40 bucks worth of Chevy rear leafs, a used Procomp 4" front bracket lift for 100 bucks and a set of ball joint spacers and the t-bars relaxed all the way.
Then all of a sudden the bouncer could run Aftershock at the Hammers, with 2 ARB's and a 4.7 gearset.
Now if you all of a sudden had all the "flex" old Krusty now has, you would be in trouble.
Bounce on son, bounce on..........
Get er done...........
You aint skeerd.............

I know this is an old thread, but I would just like to say that Toyofast is my hero. I now know w/out a doubt that my 33x10.50s will fit perfect up under my truck. I know that I can do some different things rather then putting mass amounts of money into a suspension lift. I can upgrade and make things run better, but have my 33s and good times in the process.
ps...I agree with stock gears and 35s. I ran the stock gearing in my 92 w/ 4+3+35s.

I see 33x10.5 all day long in my area on every Toyota truck/Runner. I also see plenty of 35-36" tires wedged onto stock height Toyotas too..... People here are a different breed.
The 35's just keep getting smaller and smaller I still really like the 35x10.5 tires....

Great looking truck man. I wish I was brave enough to try to shoe-horn some 35"ers under my truck.
So, I have just began thinking about running some 33"x10.5" (thanks to this post). Since it seems that many people have done this, on stock toyotas, I have another question. If I run the 33"x10.5", whould I need to run a specific width of 15" rim? I was thinking of doing a 15"x8", but was wondering if this would be too wide and may cause rubbing. I have some rubbing now with my 32"x11.5" and would like to alleviate that. Thanks for any help.

I think 15x8 wheels would be fine with 33x10.5 tires. I ran 33x10.5 Swamper radials on the stock 15x7 Toyota wheels. I think the swampers ran a bit narrower than say the 33x10.5 BFG's do.
Years ago I ran 34x9.5's on 15x8 wheels... okay for street but in the dirt I blew beads like mad.

Thanks for the info. They actually don't make the rim I was wanting in that size. So back to the drawing-board. I think I'm gonna do the 17"x9" Helo Maxx 6's in the black on a Nitto 265/75/R17 for the time being. I'm going to go to bigger tires when I do the solid axle swap, hopefully next summer. May do a body lift too, dunno know yet. I appreciate you help though. Again, great looking truck...too cool! later
