Hole in Axle Housing After Removing U Bolt- repair or replace?
I'm talking my first project and it looks like you all may be able to help me with a problem I came across. I'm trying to install the Rancho Add A Leaf kit. I've got the wheels off and just got the u bolts off and the bottom plate. Once I did that, it looks like a small chunk of the axle came off right where the middle of the bottom plate was and there is differential fluid coming out. Can I fix this somehow (and how would I do it) or do I really need to replace the entire axle as a friend told me?

A picture would be of great help
Since your asking this question instead of telling us how you fixed this issue
My bet would be you would need to pay to have this repaired??
At which point swapping out another housing might be much cheaper.
This is just a guess without pictures
I would love to see just what your talking about.

I gotta wonder did the spring perch break off and the only thing holding it in place was the u bolts??
I would think any cracks at all would push gear oil out unless it was not driven long enough to get the gear oil hot.
Is this a new to you vehicle that was sitting behind the shed for sometime before you bought it???
