well, all of my hard work has finally paid off! I worked all day today and managed to crank it up about the time it got dark! I went ahead and swapped all the wiring over and it turned out to be easier than I thought it was. I still have to refill the master cylinder and power steering fluids. I also have to put the interior all back together, but man was it a huge sigh of relief when I cranked it up! I have encountered an idling problem that I need to troubleshoot. It won't idle unless I keep pressure on the pedal. I have already adjusted the idle speed a bit, but I didn't really have time to completely fix it.
AHH SUCH A RELIEF!!!!

Hopefully within the next 30 mins. But I have to get it insured first. I have already taken it for a test drive around my neighborhood, and she runs just as good if not better than before! I love having my truck back..

I also put my interior together! Now all I lack is to re-wire my fogs and backup lights. I'm beyond ecstatic at this point. Now if I could only persuade my dad to get it insured today....And if your wondering, were trying to re-enstate the 86 2wd since that's the cab we put on, but obviously were going to re-enstate it as an 86 4wd. But I'm just going to call it the 86.5!
and new cb location under the radio. So far that works real well!

i thought about swapping my 4runner cab out. but in the long run it will end up as a tube f-toy anyway so i think ill just let the rust continue its destructive course :| it already took my fenders and floor pan. once the body mounts go i think it will be a frame with a lazy-boy for a drivers seat.

I read your whole thread today (where have i been!!?!) hehe i missed it all before. You did a great job it looks great i love the new cab you got great paint and great toyota devil symbol
You've given me hope in one day swapping my 4runners body or at least tackling some new body pannels for rust repair

haha, yeah it was a job, but it was definitely worth it to get my baby back! I have since hard mounted a mirror to the driver side fender so I can legally ride with my door off! Oh, and I FINALLY got a muffler......yeah it's a thrush magnum glasspack muffler. AKA the red rocket! I think I'm getting insane gas mileage with it. A little ricerish but it's kinda growing on me! Pics and sound clips once I get the time!
