high mileage 86 22R Carb-no power
I was riding some forest service roads today and about the time i turned around to head back my truck started running terrible. The idle is fine but when you give it gas it bucks and pops and acts like it starves itself for gas. The only way i was able to get back was i figured out that if i opened up the 2nd barrel on the carb when i pushed in hard on the accelerator it cleared up and ran fine. It seems as if the first barrel on the carb is messed up maybe a jet?
The truck is an 86 22r with 236000. carburetor has not been rebuilt. My question is, is it in the carb or is something else wrong.
Thanks Clint

my experience is in webers but this sounds like you might need to clean the primary jet. weber jets get clogged and do the same thing, depending on which one (idle or main)

I pretty much narrowed out the idle jet since it idles fine so that would mean the main jet right. I am just curious why it will still run on the second barrel does it have another jet? Also should I go ahead and tear her down and rebuild while I'm at it. Of so who sells a good rebuild kit.
