Help Requested - Unknown Connector @ Intake/Valve Cover

Hello all,

1991 Toyota Pickup DLX 4x4 5MT Long Bed
22R-E

Whilst doing my valve adjustments and valve cover gasket (I as leaking pretty good on the rear half moon) I found this connector disconnected and shoved down between the intake manifold and the engine. I'm not too worried about it as my vehicle seems to be running fine but I have no idea what it could connect to.

See some pictures below.

Thank you in advance.

mdzu

For those whom may be researching this at a later date...

This is a connector for the EGR Temperature Sensor. It seems as though some vehicles may or may not have the actual sensor but the harness may or may not include the connector on the harness itself. All in all, it seems to work totally fine.

Thanks,

mdzu

It seems when Toyota built these trucks they used the same wiring harness for every variant. My 93 DLX has all the SR5 wiring under the dash, but the plugs for the clock and A/C just sit vacant. I recall several unused plugs under the hood as well when I pulled out the harness.

To a degree. There was often more than one loom for each application, but it was common to have connectors unused depending on how the vehicle was equipped.
