Help me settle my idle

Help me settle my idle
New to me '87 Pickup. Sticky idle. I started easy and im going progressively more difficult. I got a new o-ring for my idle screw and cleaned the port. And i bypassed my dashpot because that's bunk, and a new one is like... $100+ anymore. That settled me down to between 700-1100. But when i drive, i can often enough let off the gas and end up idling at 1100rpm. A quick blip of the throttle will settle me back down to 750 9/10 times. Another problem i have is during frequent start-ups and shut-downs (going to the gas station). I'll turn the truck off to pump, get back in when finished and crank, and it'll idle at like... 350-400 and shake like crazy (still warm though?). I took my throttle body off today and gave it a really solid cleaning, but i dont have an IAC valve on the bottom of my throttle body? I figured a replacement or cleaning was the next step, but my coolant lines run right into the throttle body. So I'll put it back together tomorrow and take a quick trip. But if that doesn't solvemy issue I'm at a loss. Any suggestions from the pro's would be wildly helpful

The IAC on that model actually bolts to the underside of the intake manifold toward the front. There's an electrical plug at the back, and two fairly thin coolant hoses connect to the side. Finally , two hoses for air flow connect to the valve at front/back.
The IACV does tend to carbon up, so cleaning the inside would be good. If you decide to adjust it follow the FSM procedure. Proper ambient air temp is important to have the setting right. There's a fiber disc inside that rotates. It's pretty easy to disassemble, but be careful with the disc, they can break.

My 86 22RE has a slightly sticky throttle cable which results in a random high idle. I've tried lubing it, but at 430k miles I suspect it's beyond help. When I notice my idle is high I can lift the accelerator pedal with my foot and it goes back down. It's also really sensitive to how it's routed under hood.
