Help Me Decide- couldn't find poll

32x11.50 BFG MT
33x10.50 BFG AT
33x10.50 BFG MT

I need some help getting my final decision together for tires. I have been looking up and reading threads for the past couple weeks. There are a large number of people running 32x11.50 over the 33x10.50, but this does not put the 33s out of my mind. I'm just trying to decide what would really work best for me. I love the MT style of tire. I don't drive my truck that hard on the road so they will still last me a while. My last set of MT tires lasted me 2 years wtih a little over 1/4 tread gone ( rotation and air pressure done regularly ).

What do you think would be best to buy? I'm adding a 2-2.5" rear lift and 1.5-2" front lift to the truck in a couple weeks via BJ Spacers and Zuk Coil over leaf combo. Lemme know what's going on in your head ... lol.

Well, I have had mainly three sizes on my last four Toy trucks: 33/12.50R15 Mt's, 31/10.50 At's and now 265/75R16's (Basically 32/11.50's) Out of all of them, I think the 265's are the best happy medium between on and off road ability. I was seriously thinking about going to 33/10.50's, but I'm thinking I'm gonna stay with the 32's. There's my thoughts on the subject....

What's in my head? 33"s. It's another inch. BTW, the BFG MT's are awesome tires in my opinion. They do great off-road, and are quiet on.

The 33x10.50 BFG MT is available on TireRack.

Here's my thoughts. 32x11.50 makes no sense. Basically the same fitment as 33x10.50, same traction (maybe less) as 33x10.50, and less ground clearance.

Add a 1" body lift with what you're planning and I think you could fit 33x12.50 which gives you A LOT more tire options. Do a drivetrain lift while you're at it, and you've almost got the ground clearance of a 6" lift with a lot lower COG.

Here's a link to the TireRack with 33x10.50 BFG MT & you can get them at White Tire
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes....rrain+T%2FA+KM

I was really only deciding between the ATs and the MTs. I haven't seen anyone with a set of 33x10.50 BFG MTs anywhere on the boards. I see loads of ATs and SVXTs, but I really like the MTs. Do you think it would look good in a 33x10.50?

What do you mean by drivetrain lift?

yeah I'm really thinking of the MTs but haven't seen anyone with them in this size. I guess that would be a good thing for me. It would be different for sure. I have seen 1 tacoma on TTORA running this size on stock 3 spoke rims and 2.5" of lift.

I'm just working on some local dealers for prices. I think $145 per tire for the MTs in the 33x10.50 size is going to be as good as I'm gonna find anywhere.

If you're not going to regear then stick with the 32s otherwise you will be feeling a major loss in power - especially with a lift going on.

I'm use to running 4susp 3body 35x12.50 and stock gearing. I was running this setup on my 92 toyota pickup 3.0L 5spd. I'm not really worried about the gearing thing at the moment. I am working on purchasing some gears as soon as the next batch of money comes my way ... lol.

99tantaco on TTORA just got 33x10.50 BFG MT from summit. He used to have the AT's, and it didn't sound like he was real excited about any additional traction with the MT's...

Also, if rims could be part of the equation, check out 255/85R16 - there are some other choices there - notably the TRXUS MT, which is getting rave reviews on a lot fo the boards.

I have 32x11.5 Kumho Mud terrain's on 92 4runner. Better tires than I could have ever imagined. Got them from Tire rack. I have OME 901's. I bought BJ spacers, but just cranked up the torsion bars in the front and its a level 2" lift. Im returning the spacers on Monday. I recommend the Kumho's. All of those reviews are good for a reason. Equal to BFG muds in my opinion, but almost $50 cheap per tire.

My 33x12.5's (MT's) look pretty tough on my old dune climber.... he's got about a 4" lift and really kicks it up!

I do like the AT's a lot, but you said you do not drive your truck to hard on the road. That would lean me to the MT's. They are quiet on the road, but they also provide a little extra traction off, especially when mudding/snow. Besides, I love the way they look, a lot more aggressive with the side-wall tread.

I'm definately up for the MTs. I have only owned 1 set of ATs and that was on my first toyota for a couple months. I would much rather have an MT tire anyways. I'm just finding a dealer around town or somewhere online that has free shipping. I was thinking about TireRack, because they have been the only ones I have found that are selling the 33x10.50 MTs.

Anyone know any other places ?
