Help Identifying this connector

Hi everyone, I’m just finishing up with redoing the head gaskets on my ‘93, and I’ve come down to this one last connection that I can’t for the life of me figure out where it connects. It comes off the same loom as the TPS and injector connectors. It’s a two wire with a green/blue line and a red/black line.

If anyone might be able to identify it would be super appreciated. Cheers!

Is there a plug under the throttle body? Looked at 93 v-6 3.0L engine bay pics and that cable looks like it goes down under the throttle body. Maybe on the intake tube? It can be too far away as the cable it but so long. Good luck.

thanks Joe! That’s what I thought too but I can’t seem to find anything under there that it connects to. I may have to pull the throttle body to see if I missed something under there. Cheers!

Edited to add description of the wire. If anyone might be able to check their rig when they have a second to see where this goes would be slick. If I can find someone out there with a second Gen I’ll ask if I can look.

Odd. It sure looks like the Knock Sensor PigTail-to-Harness connector. (EB1) Those wire colors should be Black and BRown.

The only GReen wire listed in my EWD is STJ to the Cold Start Injector. http://web.archive.org/web/201411140...ne/97colds.pdf The other lead to the CSI should be B-W.

EDIT: The ECT Sensor should have a connector very similar to the one in your

picture. Its leads should be G-L (Green-Blue) and BR-B (Brown-Black).

It looks like it goes straight down towards the frame. O2 sensor connector?

Good luck. Let us know what it connected to.

whelp I feel like a complete moron and should probably sell my tools and take up knitting. So the temp sender connector had somehow gotten into the ECT connector, probably when I was plugging everything in, so it confused me as it looked like it was connected. Thanks a bunch for the help responses everyone, this is quite embarrassing.

Do check your wire colors. Take a picture and report back. Don't feel stupid; someone will find this thread someday and might want to know the wire colors, the shape of the connector, etc.

PS You might have to slightly wet (spit) the wire to get the wire color.

yes my lighting threw me off and I kept mistaking the wire colours. It ended up being the ECT wire as mentioned by others, the temp sender single wire must’ve accidentally been pushed into the ECT sensor so it ‘appeared’ to be plugged in. But in reality it was just sitting there. This is a true facepalm moment 🤦🏻‍♂️

here’s a photo, so anyone reading this can have a laugh. This is what happens when you’re not paying close attention!

So yours are G-L (Green-Blue) and BR-B (Brown-Black)?

Don't forget that this is all archeology; there's no guarantee that the EWD I have is accurate over all 2nd Gens. Or any of them. Or that the wire colors on my truck (I didn't actually check, of course) are the same as anyone else's. Your contribution (as embarrassing as it might or might not be) could help someone someday.

yes that’s correct. I kept mistaking wire colours, at first I thought they were red-black and green. Then brown-black and green. Then finally saw the dusty blue stripe on the green. Feel like a dolt on this one 🤦🏻‍♂️ I hope to heck this helps someone in the future!
