sound deadening
The 4 runner seats out of a 94 or so fit in my 88 with only minor mods, really I just had to use a big washer to catch the rear feet of the inside slider, the nice thing was the armrest screwed right to my existing console trim and looks like it came with the truck and the 4 runner seats are the same height as the stock bench. I put the sound deadening material from a 1992 Saab 900s under my carpet and dynamated behind the seats and in the doors, its just as quiet now as a Tacoma, perhaps even better, and the Saab insulation was free from a pick and pull, the car had the seats already yanked, the insulation is like dynamat glued to a thick rubber backing, it works great!!! Ill try to get some pics of my 88 up soon...

They're built in mexico. The 05's had a problem with the frame under the motor mount caving in..have fun...Umm, The lsd's in some models have been known to go bad...My buddies dad has an 08 and has been to the dealer 3 times for the ecu going out...toyota is just building their cars cheaper...If you want something thats still built in japan, go 4runner or FJ. Nuff said.
Want the best of both worlds? Keep the old frame and put a Taco engine in it.
Good luck and thanks for your service
