HELP!!! 87 22ret wont idle
I have a 87 4runner 22re turbo that wont idle. Ive replaced the pvc valve, checked the timing, checked the tps, no trouble codes, a new distributor with a new cap and rotor, new spark plug wires, new spark plugs, and all the lines are on with no leaks, and it has fuel pressure. The only thing it can do is stay running at about 2000 rpms and then at idle it will just die. Ive been working on this thing for about a month and still cant find the problem. Can someone please help me.

seeing that you replaced the rotor cap, did you get the wires in the right spots?
When I got my motor together I had the #2 and 3 wires on backwards. I could start the truck and it would run with some throttle, but it would die at idle.
Have you checked the turbo? If it is starting to seize up that may do it: blades not spinning properly at idle, so no(or just not enough) air is getting into the motor.

It sounds like you've done a lot on the ignition side...
Have you checked the basics - IE compression?
What about fuel? Is it going lean when it dies? Rich? (maybe probe the narrowband output)

There's a high chance that your throttle body is dirty, which is causing idle air problems. Using some carb cleaner and a rag clean out your throttle body (with the engine off of course). See if that helps clear up your problem. Make sure you clean it out well, open the throttle and clean as far into the throttle body as you can get your fingers. GL!

Test
Make sure the The throttle bodies vaccum lines are working.
The FSM says who to check them. They usually get clogging
before the TB since the ports are really small, use a small stiff wire.
However, the problem sounds more mechanical.
Check the compression, make sure a valve is not bent.
