Hella 500's
I just ordered some Hella 500's for $60 shipped on ebay i plan to bolt them to my stock front bumper like many of you have already done. is there anything i should know about installing them/wiring? or anything to watch out for? oh btw it was the kit in the box so it includes the wiring, switches, stone guards, and bulbs..

I have found it a bit of a pain to mess with turning the Hellas off AND turning the brights off when a car comes over the hill in the oncoming lane, I think I tend to accidentally blind people
Also, go for the 130W bulbs! They make a huge difference. Some people on Ebay sell packs of six 130W H3 bulbs for like $20. Have fun driving around with your blind-o-rays!

You might try a volt meter while turning the brights on/off to try and identify the right wire.

Looks cool
Don't know how they do things down in ol Mississippi but I have been pulled over for using mine on the road and not having covers on them. They are not that powerfull but they said they are off road lights and could not be used on road and must be covered.

haha yeah it took me like 2 hours to install them but only like 30 minutes to actually run the wiring and hook it up...making the damn things aim straight and not move is a little challenge. i do have to hand it to hella, they have some heavyduty mounting hardware
