Well had an issue today...lost brakes on the 4runner. I have the line cut and crimped and a new line to install but I don't know how long it'll take me to change. It's the return line from the rear, right behind the pass front tire. There is a splice there and then it snakes it's way to the front following the frame and I think it goes into the the anti-lock thingy.
So I'll get the line soaked with PB, work on the truck, take out the old line, work on the truck till Dad comes home, bleed the brake system, work on the truck, go home.

Dang, ...... it's always something, eh Lumpy? lol. It sure feels like that to me, at times..... I replace most everything, then the things I haven't begin to take a dump! lol.
Take yer time, Lumpy....I've heard brakes are important.....unless, as Teuf said, "You're driving up hill"..... although, ...I would think that hill would have another side, no? haha.

Ya...hell I'd like to have one vehicle to work on at a time though...It would make things so much easier if they took turns breaking.

well, after careful consideration, I think I am gonna sell my 97 Runner and keep my 89 pickup. If I keep the 89, I'll be going down the same road as you guys haha, except I'm gonna pull the motor, and since it hasn't been run in a few years, I think I'll tear it down completely and rebuild it.
Post some pics when you get a chance, Lumpy.
And I hear you guys on the autotragics... They aren't for me LOL.

First off...I know, I don't have pic's. I left my camera at me folks so I can't upload anything.
I should have all my parts from Engnbldr tomorrow; head, water pump, oil pump, timing cover and chain. I'm going to steal the fuel line crush washers off the parts truck since I'm now missing one for the fuel rail and one for the CSV.
I have started the battery swap and I know how I have to run the wiring. I have the AFM and the coil wire split and re-routed and taped up.
Tomorrow I'm going to drop my oil pan and clean up some stuff...I'll get pic's but I don't know when I'll be able to post them. Work has been really busy and my side stuff has been keeping me busy as well.

YO!
enjoy the pan....hehehehe
don't be a dork like i was and mix up the studs for the water pump....the studs Ted includes are for the fan mounting, not the pump itself. i had to re-use mine from my old pump

I got the head off and it looked like #4 was the culprit this time. It was the cleanest piston. The HG didn't seem all that bad.
I'm going to print out our map and do the pizza box thingy for the cover. Fan Stuns and pump studs...Hmmmm I"ll have to have a gander at that again.
The pan should not be all that bad. I have/I think I have enough room to lift the motor instead of tearing the front end apart. I think the manual has more room to wiggle than the auto. We shall see, we shall see...

on the water pump itself, i believe, are 3 studs....Ted includes 4. i thought it was extra but it was actually the 4th of 4 of the studs for the fan clutch.
so yeah, you will ave to cannibalize the ones from your old pump
