The "Econoline" is actually an EAV Traumahawk (An econoline made into a cheap ambulance). Thats not me driving it, I wish it was, that is beautiful country in the background. The division of American Medical Response (The private EMS agency that operates those ambulances) that I work for may as well be called the urban/ghetto division. The pic is just a file photo from AMR.net.
Thanks!

Now so far it's been over 3 weeks and you have only used 2 tanks of gas or about 34 gallons (if you have a 17 gallon tank and you run it almost dry before fillups). So you are going to be saving $14.00 every 3 weeks using your current driving habits. In 3 months (12 weeks) you are going to save about $42.00. In 1 year you are going to save about $168.00.
Now lets say I'm totally wrong and you actually see a gain of 6 mpg. That means you will save $336 in a year.
How much did all those parts cost you? It's going to take you over a year to recover your expenses and probably longer.
Sorry, just couldnt resist messing with you,
Again, my post was not meant to flame you, but many of us are getting tired of playing the game. Just post whatever results you have and prove some of us wrong.
I honestly hope you see a huge gain, then I'll go out and spend the money. I actually go through more than a tank every week so I could save even more.
As far as being DQ'ed, Now I'm really bummed.

Personally it's not so much the money saving on each fill-up that drives the mods I do it's the helping to save the planet and conserving resources while not altering my lifestyle all that much.
Also there is the engineering challenge too... I.E. recovering all the hidden horsepower/torque in the engine... [and the bragging rights that go with it].
Cheers Aviator... come on Pi!

I have checked mine the last 3 tank fulls and I get almost exactly 300 each tank of normal driving. That's a little over 17 mpg. Not too bad I don't think.

Gentlemen I already called Pi last week. I just did not feel like typing the whole thing out and crashing the forum server. haha
What do you say lamm? Will we have to share the prize? or will it go to first bidder?

I've only been watching this thread without a guess but it's taking so long, I may as well go ahead and guess.
I guess .5 (AKA 1/2 of 1) MPG increase. I would say zero but I have to think there will be some improvement. The only reason I don't think there will be a significant improvememt is the fact that there are hardly any miles put on the vehicle and they are aparrently very local miles as opposed to highway miles.
I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the outcome. Are we gonna have to wait until next season?

Show some pics once you get the winch installed. I want a winch but not sure on which one. I've been looking at the warn XD9000i but that's only because my brother has one on his 85 toyota truck and it pulls him out of anything. I like the new Warn rock crawler winch but don't know anyone who has one.
tick tick tick, the clock goes on for a few more days. :beach:
