Got my CB installed (pictures inside)
I was getting tired of wheeling without a way of communicating with the group… so I installed a CB. Big thanks to my brother for helping with the installation, my friend Aaron for some parts, and of course my wife for giving me a 4x4 birthday fund!
I am pretty happy with the way it came out. My goal was to make it look at “stock” as possible. On to the pictures:
How do you like my custom bracket fabrication? Plumbers tape FTW!
Interior shots:
Antenna Mount:
Exterior shot:
Parts:
Cobra 7 Ultra CB
Firestik Door Jam Antenna Mount
Firestik 18' Fire-Flex Coaxial Cable
Firestik 4' FireFly Antenna
Questions / comments are welcome!

x2 on spring, i had to learn the hard way , though if you dont plan on going in overgrown roads then you probably dont need one. but if you do get one get a tennis ball on there so you dont dent your rig up.

I'm a diesel mechanic. I work on big rigs I'm constantly replacing broken antennas on logging trucks. I have gotten to know a few of the drivers and have talked them into adding springs and they love them. it doesn't affect their range or anything but they aren't replacing antennas every week.

Thanks for all the compliments! The CB specifications are in my first post. It fits perfectly in the ash tray slot. Requires some cutting... but wasn't too hard. I am surprised no one made fun of my plumbers tape fabrication.
