Little Cessna Caravan.....

This isn't the one I fly, but it's the type of plane. Very simple, very forgiving little ride that's almost as reliable as a claw hammer.

I didnt ever think of carvans as small??? I usually fly a 172 when I fly fixed-wing.
I flew a cirrus sr22 the other night for the first time, glass cockpits are awesome, and VERY different.
Who do you fly for?

Awesome that guys are pilots. My dad works for Boeing, and my Grandfather worked for the business jet division of Firestone back in the day. I've only flown gliders so far. Hopefully I'll get my license one day...
Anyway, what size dash speakers did you use? 4"? I want to replace the speakers in mine, but don't know if 4"ers will be loud enough with the top off. I guess there is only one way to find out. Also, what did you use to mount your head unit in the dash? Did you buy a kit? I've done a ton of installs, but wondered if there is enough hardware on the stock radia to mount up an aftermarket unit.

As for mounting the cd player, I used the standard mount thing from Toyota to a cheapo Sony cd player. Very easy to install. Much easier than I ever would of guessed.

We are contracted to haul 3000 lbs. The plane will do it quite easily, however, you get caught in the ice very long with that much weight and it will give you some grey hairs. It is an ice magnet and slows down in a hurry with any amount of ice on it. I've been flying the caravan in Michigan for over 6 years now...........one starts to pay attention when there is ice forcasted.

I can imagine. We get a lot of ice in Idaho. Helo's dont react to it well as the blade de-ice on the apace isnt hooked up, and 172's have no deicing euipment. Icing is one of those forcast where the forcasters cover there butt and forcast it...but i usually obey by it.
