You think tires when you see Mickey Thompson? Whoa... Somebody needs a history lesson! Marion is a effin legend. Been making performance engine parts for a good 30 years longer than they've been making tires. Those valve covers there were some of the best you can get for a sb350 way back when.
And that inline filter is new, the filter itself is black. Lol which might be a little confusing come replacement time, so yeah, I might should change it...

Found some more pics. Can kinda see the new temp flat bed we made (have to snag more pics later on tonight), to replace the "old" tube bed since it was 3" too short after the body lift... Oh and the new stinger (also temp mounted...), and a pic of the interior so you can (kind of) see the dual tcase shifters:

Whew... What a ride. Took it down to the beach to give it a good run. Nice ~500 mile round trip to work out all the kinks, with 100 of those beach miles. Fixed a couple things
Was running a little hot at idle (get up to 220deg), and around 200deg driving with the old 180 termostat, so I bought a 160deg, and drilled a 1/4" hole in the disk, and sweet baby jesus, what a difference that made! Now it never gets above 190deg at idle or highway speeds. On the beach, it barely got to 200. Then I wrapped up all the wires that were getting burnt on the exhaust manifold, and rewired my main power wire (pulled out from the battery terminal from all the beach vibrations). Then I had to cut a couple inches off the lower rad hose where it was rubbing on the harmonic balancer. All in all I was pretty pleased, got to work out a few of the bigger quirks.
But ol' Swampy2.5 won it's first two races getting out of San Antonio. I was so proud. First kill was a mustang gt, did a rolling race from about 15mph, dumped into 2nd roastin the 35s, and totally pulled all the way into 4th @ around 70 when he backed off and turned down another road.
Then right before I got out of SA, I pulled up to a light, and this 04(ish?) Chevy 1500 SS pulled up next to me and revved it up. I just laughed until he started smoking his meats, so I just went "Vroom Vroom" <insert god awfully loud and wicked sounding sbc exhaust noise>. Light went green and I let him have a full second to launch before I dumped. The damn Swampy started floating sideways in a horrendous cloud of smoke as BOTH 35" MTR rubbers lite up due to the lincoln locker with a ear splitting screech coupled with the thunderous note of the exhaust. My head gets glued to the headrest as the tires obtained traction and the former "Green Machine" launched off with snot rocket heading into orbit force. Roaring by the SS in 1st gear, I hit 2nd by a miracle with drag racer accuracy and the ST2.5's tires roast again as I'm catapulted into "I CAN'T BELIEVE MY SS IS LOOSING TO FRANKENSTEIN!" lead. Wisely, after I'm reaching the top end of 3rd with an equally flawless transition from 2nd, I see the SS flash his lights at me, signaling that he agree's that he just got his ass handed to him. I slow down and wait for him to catch up where he rolls down his window and asks "What the hell is that thing?", to which I reply "It's a SwampThing, and it just whooped your ass!". Then I received that vacant stare, so I added "An antique toyota pickup with a LT1". After that I got the finger and he tore off down the road in an opposite direction.
What's that smell? Ah yes, victory. Coupled with the smell off unburnt fuel from the carbureted small block chevy under the hood.

Actually the ST2.5 is gonna be going back under the knife. That poor g52 sounds like its on the verge of spontaneous combustion in all gears except 4th where it's 1:1... So far a good yota tranny has lasted 1 full week of moderate driving, 2 races, and a beach run. The dual cases are holding up well though. We only have 2 more yota trannies, a 700r4, and 2 th350s to tear up before I have to get me a behemoth nv4500.
