Ever checked your speedo via mile marker or GPS?
I find 25 hard to believe also. I could see it coming out of Colorado or something (downhill).

Stock 4runner, 22RE - 18-21mpg, 60-70mph.

Something isn't right with this.
Don't ask me. I just report what I get. When I fill up, I keep all the receipts. I put them in a drawer and record the gallons I put in. Also, see the very bottom of this post.

I don't see how I COULDN'T take my large tires into account. Do you think I drive with tinier tires? Or that I somehow record the mileage by some kind of computer program?

Never checked the speedo. And I don't have a tripometer. I have a fixed route that I drive every week. I have used MapQuest to calculate the exact mileage, which is 64.34 miles. If I stray from this route and drive more, or drive less, I calculate it using MapQuest. I record the amount of gallons from my gas receipts and use this to figure up my MPGs. Last time I filled up I drove 303 miles on 12.3 gallons. If you divide this, you see I got 24.634MPG. I have owned the truck for a little over a year and have been doing this since the day I bought it. Last winter I got about 27. This summer I've consistently been hitting slightly under 25. This averages out to be about 25MPG through the year.
