Fuel usage
I have a 1988 4Runner. 22R EFI. It has a rebuilt long block in it with about 6000 miles. Truck over all has 223,xxx miles.
It is a 5 speed. What can I expect for fuel Mileage? Of course I use more when going 70 mph then I do at 60 - 65. but what should I expect?

FWIW: With 32x11.5's and 4.10 gearing, my 135k 22R-E 5 speed 4WD x-cab gets 17-18 mpg on average.

How are you getting these numbers? The truck didnt even get 25 stock, with 33x12.5's and 4.10 gears I just dont see how thats possible. Even with speedometer correction thats the highest mileage I've seen from a 4WD with 33's. Maybe you have a secret that you need to share with the rest of us?

I just put gas in it tonight. 12.3 gallons. I got roughly 300 miles (calculated using mapquest, not the odometer) since my last fill up.

^Something aint right, cause 25mpg is alot! I could understand 20, but 25 is unheard of even 100% bone stock off the floor.
Is all your driving hwy miles on flat grade?

To answer the Original question.
My 87 4runner, 5speed, 22re, 4.10 gears, and 31x10.50 tires
My highest reading has been 21 and my lowest 15
Mean average: 17.something
All the numbers are mixed driving.
If you want I can Email you my spreadsheet so you can get a better look at my stats.

biggest diffrence is your driving style, i drive like an old lady, and get 20. Most i ever got was when my truck was stolen when i got it back i calculated 22mpg for that tank, i want to know how they got better milage than me

hmmm.... that could have somethin to do with it... on freeways i speed.. simply cuz if i dont it drops to about 45-50 goin uphill. and that seems to burn more gas then flyin down the freeway at 80 then goin up it at 60-65.
