Fuel Pump Leak

Hi My 86 Toyota Pickup with 22R engine is leaking fuel from a hole on the bottom side of the fuel pump. The hole looks to be natural though but I may be mistaken. What should be plugging this hole? Is there a screw missing that would have been used to plug this hole? The truck runs good except for this fuel leak (which got bigger when I put a empi carb in her. Any suggestions on plugging this hole please let me know.. Think I should just replace the pump? It seems pointless if I can plug that there hole.

If this is a traditional mechanical pump (cam driven) then the hole you are talking about is a weep hole for the diaphram - if it is leaking then diaphram is going bad and the pump needs to be replaced
It will get bad enough it will leak alot or stop pumping

Make sure you don't have gas in your oil.

It is common to occur if it is leaking from the hole.

Thanks!

Thanks for the advise, I found Toyota did put the holes in the bottom of their mechanical pumps so you can tell when the Diaphragm is starting to break by the gas leaking out. (TOYOTA IS AWESOME)

I did find a little bit of gas in my oil, I ran about 3 gallons of cheep oil thru her after cleaning the part of the block that I could get to where the oil pump connects, then if course I put better oil in her. She runs like a champ again and she has just a little more get up and go than she had before (and for some reason less backfires) lol

Anyways THANKS!

It was probably getting ready to die and starving a bit for fuel maybe
Cool on back in the Saddle again
