Fuel Pump /Injectors question

Fuel Pump /Injectors question
I was checking for leaks before i continue.
I jumped the fuel pump power connector with a paperclip.
So it made a sound like air escaping past a seal. "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS" but it never quit.
I did not smell any gas, What this just the fuel return making that noise? Should I let it run more than 30 sec?
Edited to add: I only let it run for ant 10-15 seconds.
Let me go make a video really quick i will be right back.

Fuel is in constant circulation from the tank, thru the rail and back to the return line to the tank. As long as the jumper is in and the key is on it will not stop circulating. It should not sound like air escaping but you will hear it in operation.

When the fuel rail is empty (full of air, not fuel), the air is pushed through the fuel pressure regulator and back to the tank. To me, it definitely sounded like air squeezing through a small space, but only for about 10 seconds. Once the rail filled with fuel and the only thing going through the FPR was fuel, it was silent but-for the sound of the pump itself.
As far as 30 seconds, your rail (and fuel lines, etc.) could have been emptier than mine. But I'm pretty sure it won't run well until all the air is out. So I'd try running the pump again with FP/B+ until the sound changes.

I smelled a very very very light sent of gas from the plenum. But i took a Mechanic's Stethoscope and its so much louder coming for the back of the fuel rail. All the injectors have the same level of sound. but the rail is 50% louder.

What is the problem? Is it the noise? Or will the engine not run? If you dont have any leaks, and you havent turned it over, start it!
It could just be the noise of the fuel going past the pressure regulator when you dont have any vacuum applied.

It also most back together. I just need to put the radiator back on. I just need to pick up some transmission hose that goes to the radiator. I should be ready for a test tomorrow morning or later tonight.
