Fuel problem

Fuel problem
I have fuel pressure at the fuel filter underneath the truck on the passenger side but the truck will not run not even a hicup. It ran fine before I ran it out of fuel. Is there somthing stopping fuel from going into the motor between the filter and the motor?

The filter is new and theres fuel pressure on the other side with some air here and there. I turn it over and it sputters on 1 cylinder it sounds like.
The EFI fuse is good. It was just running before I ran it out of fuel and then I put more fuel in and now it wont run and Ive cranked it over tons. Think it is a fuel pressure problem from a clogged filter not letting enough pressure for it to run and just sputter on 1 cylinder? I ran some starter fluid through and it runs fine on that stuff.

Also pull the fuel pump and clean the filter sock on the fuel pump. When you run a vehicle out of gas it sucks up everything from the bottom of the tank and will clog every filter. Also is your fuel filter was junk the crap might of clogged up the injectors.

Again, hope it's an easy fix like that, man!

I cracked the fuel rail on the front drivers side and lots of pressurized fuel. The computer was pretty beat up full of salt sand and stuff before I took everything apart and fixed it.

The filters new I took it out and blew through it to make sure and it flows really easy. The fuel rail that delivers fuel to each injector.
Thers one for the right bank and left bank cylinder injectors.

I figure its the ECU not controlling the injectors. Im going to test to see if theres voltage at the injector wires. The aluminum ecu case is all coroded and seperated and was covered in wet beach sand when I got the truck and it worked before I took it out. I think it just had enough and finally died.
Now Its a 1992 3vze automatic 4x4 pickup. I cant find 1992 ecu on ebay but I found 1991 3vze A/T and a 94-95 3vze A/T ECU there out of 4runners. Will those work for my 1992 pickup?

I hooked up a volt meter to the injector plug on the drivers side in the very front and it shows it is getting somthing. Does this mean I need to rip off the intake and pull all the injectors and test them to see if they squirt fuel?
How could all the injectors plug up at once with a new filter?

Not likely they would, Fierce.... Hmmmm. Well, the ole, "Pull a plug and see if they're squirting" trick might work, no? All you need is a couple shots/revolutions... Should soak a 'NON LINT type wick of some kind. I would hate for you to have to pull the intake.
Man, quite a lil mystery, this gremlin is, eh? Very nice chasing down and response notes, man... Props!
You're sure it's not the ECU now? Did I miss something?
Not sure if ONE injector firing 'getting juice' is conclusive... But man, what are the chances that it's the only one getting juice, right?
Just to recap...it starts up and runs as long as you pump ether in there? (Sorry, have to run, didn't have time to read back)

Runs fine if I spray ether through the intake. The 2 relays in the glove box are clicking. one when your turning it over and the other when you turn the ignition on.
Theres pressurized fuel at the fuel rail. The one injector plug I tested had voltage. The truck has spark because it runs on all the cylinders with either.
But it seems no fuel is getting past the injectors.

A multimeter is not fast enough to detect FI pulses. you need a scope or NOIDs.
Look like you have to pull the injectors and look. There is a test for them in the FSM.
If you are careful, you can have someone hold the key in the on position ( pull the starter wire) and with a pair of test leads touch each injector connectors to "fire" the injector manually. With the plenum off you should see some gas spray. Just be careful, vaporized gas only needs a spark to make a severe mess of you.
