Fuel Injector (Green Cap), 3VZE

Fuel Injector (Green Cap), 3VZE
I broke the green cap that covers the lower portion of the fuel injector. This green cap has a little hole as well so that the injector can spray fuel into the intake manifold.
Since I broke the green cap when trying to force the injectors into the intake manifold. Can anyone tell me the purpose of this green cap for the bottom portion of the fuel injector?
I went to the Toyota dealer and they do not sell the green cap separately. Toyota said that it only comes with the purchase of a fuel injector which is $200 bucks each.
Can someone let me know how I can get around not using this green fuel injector cover?
FYI, I replaced the knock sensor due to knock sensor code and my pickup failed emissions. I was in a rush and those green cap were very brittle. So I forced the injectors in and it barely hit the rubber bushings on the intake manifold. I broke at least 4 of these green covers. I NEED SOME HELP!... I am so frustrated that I'm so close to sending this truck to the junk yard if i'm going to have to buy anymore expensive parts for my truck that I can't even get $500 dollars for it. Sorry venting and i know someone can help.

RMA,
Thanks for the help. I will order a set and hopefully everything fits my injectors.
BTW, I have a pretty bad fuel leak coming from the injectors. After 3-4 minutes of idle, I have at least 1/3 soda can worth of fuel dripping onto the ground. I don't know if it's because I broke the injector caps or if the o-rings, grommets, or rubber bushing on the intake manifold are worn out.
I'm sure the cap serves a pretty important task. In addition, without the cap there is a gap that rubber grommet could leak fuel from due to the thousandth gap between the grommet and fuel injector.
Thanks again,

You may want to consider having your injectors serviced/cleaned. Witchhunter Performance is one operation that will turn them around in a hurry for you. They cannot be dissassembled, but they do flow a cleaning solution through them in an ultrasonic cleaning tank. They also replace all of the O-rings and pintle caps, so, you get all new parts there too.
I had them service my 3VZE injectors (including the cold start injector). It was a bit over $100 as I recall for all 7. According to their data, the cold start and two of my main injectors saw a drastic improvement in flow and pattern. My rig had 125k miles on it at the time.

rockauto has rebuilt ones cheap.
The issue is balancing - witchhunter will flow test them. A rebuilt will flow well, so if you use that you should get your existing ones cleaned. Or buy a used, uncleaned one and hope for the best.

this is really funny but I just got done posting about this today. I found a local injector rebuilder company and they had the parts there for it. I would consider opening up a google map of your city and then type in "injector rebuild" or something like that and it will pop up with any business that might be in your town if you wanted it quick...

Thanks for all the posts. I will look into witchhunter.com.
FYI, if you want to purchase them through ebay, here is the correct link for the Toyota V6:

I went ahead and ordered on ebay. I'm crossing my fingers that the kit I ordered has no fitment issues.
Thanks again for all the informative posts! Yotatech rocks.

hi everyone, Im also having this problem with 3 injectors with broke green caps, too: however, I put them in like that and running the engine but it is making this clicking noise that I dont know if is the injectors or the valves. Is it going to hurt the engine in any way?

I bought my 4runner with bad headgasket and I guest it was sitting for a while before the owner decided to sell it. When I broke those caps, I didn't think it was going to do any damages but when I started the engine and heard a clicking noise and now I don't know if is the injectors or the valves?
