Front diff offset

It's the thing that goes from the diff to the drivers side CV axle. On an ADD truck it'll have a actuator on it. It's the tube on the right of the picture hanging off the differential.
It's what allows the cv axles to be the same length on each side. The side of it that is bolted to the diff is driven by the diff, and the other side drives the cv axle. Simple technology.

being that his is an 86, it won't have ADD so the top tube is correct.
However, I still fail to see the correlation between IFS and Landcruiser axles. Exactly WHAT are you TRYING to do?! The diff is offset to the passenger side to accommodate the pass side Tcase drop, but unless you plan on doing a SAS, you won't be fitting a Landcruiser anything in there.
Landcruisers through 97 use a SFA, and everything 86+ truck/4Runner is IFS.

You guys are brutal. Glad I'm not a newb. A bewb, maybe, but not a newb. And, being a bewb, I like kissing myself. Is that wrong?

If your talking about putting a solid axle in. It doesn't really matter that much. If your talking about putting a different IFS diff. in, you might want to consider leaving it alone. Or putting another stock one in. Your post is confusing about what the end result is. 9.5" Ford axle? 9.5" Tundra axle? Rock Assault custom housing?
What are you trying to do? Explain basics, not what gear ratio and locker you think you might put in someday.
On a side note:
If you have that little of time to research YOUR project and want others to do it for you. How do you plan to wrench on your rig?

I think what the dragon is trying to do is figure out the off set for the front axle. He is ordering 65 inch solid axle and needs to know the offset of the front diff for ordering, at least thats what I get out of his post. I dont know myself since i have the IFS in mine. someday I will get a SAS.

To the side not I don't want other people to research it for me, I ask the questions in case somebody knew or could get the answer quicker then me. When I get to my truck I will measure it out myself.

It really doesn't matter that much at all. As long as the diff. is on the passenger side. You could just model it after a D60 or any other full width front axle.
Once again its not that critical.
