Good point about the shrouding, it can take some fabrication skills to make a good shroud for an e-fan. I spent a lot of time making this one:
All I can say is that I've used e-fans a number of times and they never worked as well as a mechanical.

I couldn't care less about how it works when the engine is idling, I care about how it works when I'm working the nads off my truck. Every time I used e-fans they can't keep the temps down when you are working hard, but you are right, they work great when you are idling or stream crossing.

I don't remember the brand (gave up on efans 6-7yrs ago), but I didn't skimp. Got the biggest and best I could and built a shroud.
2700 CFM or some such thing.?/?
