Um...original post was from 2007.....i'm sure he's made his decision since then.
OBX asked if he should trade his x-terra for an FJ40 - in this case, definitely. Dunno what the FJ owner is thinking personally, but hey if someone can score a deal on a classic cruiser then by all means go for it!

Still trying to decide.
Well here I am, still trying to decide if I should make a trade of my 2000 Nissan Frontier 4x4 crew cab for a 78 fj40 with a rebuilt 5.3 vortec with fuel injection, and rebuilt 4 speed tanny with granny gear. The fj does have some rust. Not a tremendous amount. If I trade, the fj becomes my daily driver. No more ac, cruise, power windows and door locks. The fj has been converted to power steering. Whadda ya think? I do have a family to consider as well. I'm not the only passenger.

You're on a Toyota forum for an "unbiased" opinion on whether to upgrade from a Nissan? Nah, I probably wouldn't take it, in your shoes. If it were a backup vehicle no problem, but for a DD it could be a problem. Rebuilt and conversions too, never know if they were done right if you didn't do them yourself, and Chevy engine to boot. DDs need to be dependable, save the fun for a backup vehicle.
