LOL instead of a body lift you recomend cranking your torsion bars..
Yeah....thats really the better way of doing it. The stupidity out there is amazing!
Look at any built offroad toyota. 95% of them have a body lift. I wonnnnder why?

i hate a 3" body lift..but one smaller than that is fine..
mostly because i see alllllll of the lifted chevy's around here run 3" BL's..and they act like its the coolest thing ever..
then they ask if my STOCK toyota has a 2in body lift..lol..cracks me up everytime
i see ALOT of full size rigs nowadays with a BL bigger than 3"..i seen one in a town close to mine that had a 12.5" BL on it...you could see the entire frame..
it was on 40's..and the suspension was completely stock...
and yes you read that right..a 12.5" body lift..i didnt ask him how his steering works..lol

Ive seen a newer chevy with stacked frames... Guy actually welded on another frame about 4" above his other frame... lol!
body lifts are great, they are not just for mall crawlers (they are cheap and easy to put in, dont effect the driveability of the truck at all) you can't argue with results.

You'll most likely rub on the inner pinch weld up front.
BFH take care of that.
Fore-warning tho. TSL's (especially used) ride like a dream! really! .. The one month i had SX's on my rig (32's) this summer.. I was beyond happy to be gone with them!
33x10.50 km2's much better tire. Not to mention save on gas mileage and your sanity

This all depends on the condition of the tires. If you buy tires that are chopped as f*** then you gotta expect an unfixable vibration. If they're maintained, then it shouldn't be an issue. I bought my TSL's used, and they actually ride great. I have zero complaints about the ride quality. Are they noisy, hell yeah. They're some loud ass sonsobitches, but with a tire that aggressive you really have to expect that (at least I did). The noise really doesn't bother me at all... covers up the sounds of my exhaust leaks But they ride great and when it comes to gettin dirty and needing to dig, these things will dig your KM2's into the ground. No comparison.
And I lost 0.4 mpg going from a 31x10.50 kumho All Terrain to the 33 inch swampers... wow. Give it a couple more months, I'll turn off my A/C and get well over my 0.4mpg back that I lost

i used to run 1.5inch ball joint spacers, a 2inch AAL and i took off the lower valance on teh bumper and cleared maxxis buckshots 33x12.50 with 3.75 backspacing fine pavement pounding. tehy did rub when i wheeled tho but i added a 2inch body lift for that jsut because there jsunk and mess my alignment up and everything and screws everything up like kawasakimoto said. heres a pic before body lift
and heres on eafter the bodylift jsut fro teh heck of it

Thanks for the pics. This was the type of info I was looking for.
Rubbing happens. My friends jeep with 8inch longarms rubs his 37's like hell,I can live with it if it's just gonna rub offroad.
I don't mond cutting a little bit. This is just to get me by until I can afford a SAS.

Well i came upon a complete 4.5" trailmaster lift, with a front diff locked and geared 4.88, and a set of 4.88 gears for the rear for $500.
Gonna pick this stuff up this week.

Well maintained TSL's? How do you maintain a TSL well? Like rotating tires? ...
First off. If you use a TSL off-road like they're completely designed for. Theres no 'maintaining it well'. You're gonna lose wheel weights, and take massive chunks out of the lugs. It's inevitable.. if you're using them for what they are intended.
Eventually, the ride quality will suffer A LOT. To each their own of course =)

Well, I live in florida. Losing wheel weights... been there done that. I just rebalance the wheels the next day at work. Losing chunks of tread blocks... not gonna happen here. When I used to live in Kansas, I could see that happening. But down here, I don't think I've ever seen a rock. The last rock you'll see is the asphalt as you drive off the road onto the trail. After that, all you ever get is sand and mud and muck. Kinda hard to tear up tires in that The only thing here really to stay on top of is rebalancing them, and rotating them VERY regularly to prevent chopping. Pretty much the same as any other tire, really.
And about the mileage thing... I went from a 31x10.50x15 Kumho road venture to a 33x10.50x15 TSL Radial. I really lost no mileage whatsoever. I lost more braking distance than gas mileage, but then again I drive like a grandpa, not like a racecar driver. I don't romp the gas pedal at every stoplight, or floor it to get onto the highway. I just drive it, and wheel it on the weekends. Gives me something fun to do with my kids
And it has the stock 4.56 gears. I really have no intentions of changing that, nor do I have intentions of going any larger than a 33" tire (though I could probably clear 35's with a little trimming in the front). I'll save my next project for the big tires, and that project will have the letters CJ at the beginning of it

I know i sold a set of 33x12.50s on steelies to a friend that had a stock truck like yours. We put them on at my house and he couldn't even back out of my driveway. They rubbed everywhere. Remember its just not fender clearance you need...You're going to be rubbing your frame when you make Sharp turns.

yoder... how much did they rub? cause we have the same rims.. as in size and whatnot.. was it only when you wheeled or did it do it all the time. and i have an MC bumper so thats a little more clearance maybe than just the stock bumper with no valance
