First drive with the Supra MAF
HOLY CRAP!!!!! The throttle response is way better and a heck of a lot more crisp. Running down the road in 4th gear at about 2800rpms I can push the skinny pedal and it feels like there is a turbo in there. It goes from 2800 to about 3500 in a couple of seconds, much much much better than before. It even comes off the line a lot better and my idle is nice and smooth at 750. I'm going to fill it up tomorrow and see if this helps be get better than the 20mpg I've been getting in town.
Horray for me!!!!!!

Where did you get it? You're running a 22re right?
I'm interested in what your MPG is going to be. If it's relatively the same but with just better throttle response I'm going to get one.

Yup, 22re with 178K on the ticker. I got the MAF at a pick-n-pull place locally. If you do decide to go this route be sure and get the MAF from a 1982 Supra, part number 22250-43110 since it is a plug-n-play unit.

Sorry for not having pics folks. The camera was stolen a few weeks ago when the house got broken into.
Matt16 the only year of this part that is a plug in upgrade for our 22re's is 1982. They are a pain to find, really. The guy I got mine from told me that Toyota used the same part from 82-85. He was wrong. The part number you need is the 22250-43110.

That's interesting.. I thought it would've been the same part from 82-85. I still want to take mine off my 85 supra and see just for fun.

Just got back from a long run down the highway and in 5th at 70mph turning 3000rpms I can push the pedal and pass without down shifting into 4th. First time I've been able to do that.

You guys can convert the non turbo Supra AFM and swap the electronic circuit board from the 22re AFM into the Supra AFM and get the same results.I own 2 trucks 1 has the 82 Supra AFM and I made another one with the circuit board swap. You also need to resolder the connections and you will need a different air filter.Look up the search on Supra AFM on my old write up.The acceleration is so much smoother.

I done this on my 91 22re, but had to go to Autozone for a 3 inch to 2.5 inch rubber coupler to connect it to the stock black air pipe. Not sure if I done it right because it would idle, but the minute I got in the gas it would spit and backfire through the intake. Changed back to the O.E and it fixed it...so I sold it on Ebay.
